Kona Cafe or Spoodles

I have pretty much all my ADRs made but I'm thinking which of these 2 I should go for dinner: Kona or Spoodles.

I thought about Spoodles because I wanted to see the Boardwalk and I read good reviews on this restaurant.

At the same time, I wanted to visit different resorts this time and I thought Kona would be a good way of justifying a visit to the Polynesian

For those who have eaten in both places, which one would you recommend? I'm looking for a good steak in either of these places.

Wow, tough choice. We loved both our meals there during our last trip and loved the atmosphere at those particular resorts, too. I think I'd probably choose Kona because everything was just a little cut above, but I don't think you could go wrong with Spoodles, either.

Both are good, personal choice which atmosphere you prefer. Check out www.allearsnet.com for the menus. Perhaps that will help you decide.

Really, you'll be happy at either one, imho. They are both great!

We have eaten at both and enjoy both. If I could only pick one it would be Spoodles!

KONA!! One of our all time favorites. We didn't like Spoodles at all and would not go back, but many people rave about it. Just my .02

We loved Spoodles!! My DSSs loved the tapas selection, which my DH shared with them, and I loved my dinner-- everyone was happy! We will be going back this summer! Planning on Kona for breakfast-- need to introduce the family to banana stuffed french toast!!

Two of my favorites!

I think it depends on where you will be and what kind of food you feel like eating. They are night and day menu wise! I like strolling the BW at night, so we often end up at Spoodles.

Can't go wrong with either.

We have been to both and enjoyed each dining experience. In September we have ADRs for both, so you know we like them. But since you are asking for us to choose one over the other, I do think Kona has a definite edge over Spoodles. You can not go wrong with either.

Thanks everyone,
I decided to go with Kona after finding out that you can see the fireworks from the Polynesian resort.
We have an ADR to 7:10 PM and Wishes will be presented at 9:00 PM on the day we are going to the resort. Based on your experience, will we be finished before 9:00 PM to watch the fireworks (I can change to an earlier ADR if needed)?
What's the best place to see them?

Yes, you should be finished in plenty of time. We had an 8:15 ADR there last August when Wishes was being shown at 10--not only did we finish in time but also had time to check out the gift shop and pool before viewing Wishes from the beach. We found a small speaker concealed by some plants between the pool and the beach and watched from there.
