We are four adult women ranging in age from 30 t0 58. I've eaten at both, although for Ohana it's been a little longer. We enjoyed both, but at Ohana we had our children. I need opinions on which to choose.

Kona Cafe. Ate at Ohana last Thursday, while the food is still delicious, the restaurant was so crowded (at 5:30 PM) and the service was terribly slow. I would think 4 women would enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Kona better. hth

Kona has far better food, and is definitely a more "adult" experience. Ohana is good for a kind of cheesy show, and large quantities of poor-to-mediocre food. You choose. A recebt Dis Unplugged podcast featured both a review of Ohana's and Kona. You can find it here:

Scroll down to the September 11 edition, and click on "Listen Now" or download it to your computer. If you haven't listened to the podcast before you may enjoy its irreverent-but-honest tone.

I already listened and is part of what has me questioning. My only "issue" with the podcasts are that children are not represented very well. However, this will be an adults only trip, and we thoroughly enjoyed Ohana, but we had kids. So, I am thinking maybe their review with adults only has some validity. With children we often times look for something different - like if my children scream will I be mortified :)

Considering you are not entertaining children with a unique experience. I would guide you toward Kona Cafe. Meals made to order should always be better than meals made in-advance for the masses...unless the kitchen is run by a terrible chef. We have always viewed Kona Cafe a better choice for 'fresh' food.

I totally agree - Kona is the way to go for four women. Great food and nice atmosphere. You can relax with a nice glass of wine and a good meal.
