Would love some feedbacK. I am getting Qsdp for 6 of my 9 day stay (split stays) I;d like to eat at Poly once. I'm torn between using a counter service to go to captian cooks or try to get an adr and pay oop for breakfast at Kona's. Now someone said that you can get a dole whip for dessert at CJ's but is their lunches/dinners good? What would you do?

I had my first experience of devouring Tonga Toast at Capt Jack's in March. It was wonderful and half the price of Kona. That's my 2 cents!

I didn't really answer your question did I? We did have a dole whip on the way out and it was the same as in the park. I can't speak for dinner, but I highly recommend breakfast.

We've only eaten breakfast at Captain Cook's, and it was really good. We had tonga toast. :goodvibes

They do have Dole whips there. I saw the machine, but we didn't get one since we were there so early.

Captain Cook's is at the Polynesian. Captain Jack's is at Downtown Disney. ;)

If you only want to try Tonga Toast, you can go to Captain Cook's for that. (And yes, they do have a Dole Whip machine, too.) If you want other breakfast items at Kona Cafe, I hear good things about the macadamia nut pancakes. I like the real press pot Kona coffee and their Lilikoi juice (tropical juice blend).

have to vote for Kona Cafe...Big Kahuna breakfast...eggs,ham, bacon, sausage, french toast, breakfast potatoes & macadamia/pineapple pancakes. All for about $12...awesome, delicious.

And it's so nice to be waited on while you wake up!

Every time we've been in Captain Cook's (the counter service in Polynesian) the dole machine has not been working properly. But we love the Dole Whips at Aloha Isle in MK. We did have tonga toast from Captain Cook's...

By the way, Cap'n Jack's is a table service restaurant on the water over in Downtown Disney...just so you know!

It is my family's opinion that a TS meal for breakfast is never worth the price or the value of a credit on the DDP. So I'd say I'd do a CS meal for breakfast.

Thanks for the feedback so far- there are alot of names that are too close capitan jack capitan cook and don;t get me started on acronyms CBR and CSR always get me.

Anyways since I am not on the dining plan for my whole stay I'd like to try tonga toast. Capitan cooks is cheap but if I went there I'd be using a CS on a cheap meal. Or do I book Kona's and pay opp. I'm thinking the three of us could almost share the Big kahuna with a side of something else?? Is it that big. (It's me, DD11, DS7)
