Kona Cafe or Concourse Steakhouse for Breakfast

I am not sure which place to try for breakfast. I am sure my husband will have the steak and eggs no matter which one we go to. We will only be able to do one. We are staying at The Wilderness Lodge so I am not sure how easy Kona Cafe will be to get to for an early breakfest. It will just be the two of us, we will not have the kids to get back and forth this time.
I LOVE to eat out for breakfast but I do not get to very often. The last time was on our last Disney vacation. Both Menu's look very yummy.

Kona! I havent been to the Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast in a few years, but we went to Kona a couple weeks ago. Yummy TONGA TOAST

I have not been to the Concourse for breakfast, but I do highly recommend Kona Cafe. The Tonga Toast is really delicious, and I also like the Calabash Breakfast, which is fried potatoes with ham, scallions, and mushrooms topped with a creamy cheese sauce served with eggs. Plus they have delicious pineapple juice and great coffee!

I voted for Kona! The pineapple macadamia nut pancakes are to die for!!

Can't you just take a boat from WL to the Contemporary and then get on the monorail to the Polynesian?

I voted for Kona because the menu is more unusual. The food at Concourse is very good but it didn't have a special feel to it. Just good hot breakfast UNLESS you are a cinnamon roll freak in which case you need to go to the concourse to get a stickey mickey which is delicous. I liked it better than the tonga toast but the breakfast at Kona was better, atmosphere is nicer. Concourse is a close second.

We have had many breakfasts at Kona and a couple at Concourse. I give the nod to Kona mainly if you have an interest in the famed Tonga Toast. It's very good if you like a sweet breakfast. However, Concourse has wonderful breakfast quesadillas if you like a spicey breakfast and those Sticky Mickey's are delicious! My oldest son declares the Mickey waffle with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate shavings to be his very favorite breakfast. Also, it is fun to have the monorail zipping by you.

I don't want to put a damper on all this enthusiasm for Kona, but I had heard for years and years how great the Tonga Toast was; so DD25 and myself gave it a try a couple of weeks back. I was rather disappointed. For some reason I had thought it was some form of french toast with bananas inside. Instead it reminded me more of a very large square donut. Way too sweet for my tastes. DD did order the regular french toast, but it was nothing to get excited about. Sometimes I wonder if the hype doesn't get out of hands at times.

but if forced to choose one I would pick Kona. Two words: Tonga Toast. Another two words: Kona coffee.

Obviously if you're staying at WL it'll be a bit easier to get to Concourse, but all you have to do is take the boat to CR, then hop on the resort monorail for the Poly. Not bad - and if you ask me...a fun little trip to take.

We also love Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast (lunch & dinner too). They have excellent eggs benedict.

I have an idea - do both of them! We usually do. Depending on where we're staying. We often stay at the Poly. Sometimes we stay at the Epcot resort area. In that case, we usually only hit one of the two, and it's usually Kona.

I voted for the Concourse Steakhouse as that's where dh and I (and our girls go every year). It is on our "must do" list... BUT this year we are also going to give Kona Cafe a try for breakfast too. I think you'll like Concourse Steakhouse very much and it's a short (yet enjoyable!) boat ride over from WL to CR. Good luck. I'm sure either one you choose you will be happy with.
