I'm dying to try the banana stuffed french toast  for breakfast. We'll be staying at POFQ so I'm trying to decide which restaurant to try. Is the version at Boatwright's as good as the one at Kona? Also, will we need to make an ADR? Thanks! :goodvibes

I really enjoyed it at POR..never had it anywhere else. I made an ADR to be safe, but when we got there..we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant! It was around 8:30am on a weekday morning.

I have not eaten at Kona Cafe however the tonga toast at Boatwrights is very good, but sweet. I would suggest making reservations for breakfast at both locations. I hope you have a good meal!:)

Kona hands down. It's so much better and such a warm yummy breakfast. We don't usually make adrs for Kona until the day before but we also go extremely early for breakfast and we only have 2 adults. So to be on the safe side make adrs. You can always cancel if you decide not to go there.

Kona. No question. We love the restaurant for breakfast. It's a must every time we go for some Tonga Toast.

Do BOTH! That way, you won't miss out on anything.

(I keep telling my wife we need to do this, but, she won't let me) :)

I've had both. Boatwrights' stuffed french toast is just as good as the Kona's. Yum Yum! But I love the atmosphere at the Poly. :)

I have to go with Boatwright's. The food isn't that much different at either place, but Boatwright's for breakfast is a little less hectic.

My husband and I have tried both banana-stuffed french toasts and they are both tasty, although I slightly prefer the one at Kona (no banana-strawberry sauce and dipped in cinnamon-sugar instead).

We also like to try other plates while we're at restaurants, so that may be the deciding factor for you as well. The sweet potato pancakes at Boatwright's are fantastic while Kona Cafe has amazing Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes and superior coffee.

Now that we have kids, we usually go to Kona Cafe, just for its location. We usually have breakfast at Kona and then take the monorail over to EPCOT after finishing our meal. MK of course is another convenient option for you if you decide to eat at Kona Cafe.

Both restaurants have great breakfasts so if you want to take the time to try both, I would recommend both. The ambience at both restaurants are different but tasteful too. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the replies :goodvibes I forgot about the Kona coffee, that may push me towards Kona. I didn't realize that it didn't have the sugar cinnamon on it at Boatwright's...another reason to go to Kona. Looks like we may go to Kona on our epcot day. Does anyone know if the Kona coffe is included on the dining plan?

We have had breakfast many times at Boatwright's and always enjoyed our meals. there Sweet potato pancakes are very good. We also enjoy Kona. It is our favorite breakfast place at WDW.
