Kona Cafe for breakfast?

We'll be staying at the Poly for the 1st time this August. We're thinking of having breakfast at Kona on our last day because we have to catch the Magical Express back to the airport in late morning. I've heard great things, but anybody have first-hand review of Kona breakfast?

im sure you will find lots of Kona reviews with pictures on this board. i've seen a couple. I have been to kona and i can tell you that its WONDERFUL!! Tonga toast is simply to die for. I dunno how others couldnt finish the whole thing, cause i sure polished off every single bite! Lol. It was marvellous. The lilikoi juice is phenominal, and their pressed coffee pots are delish as well. You really cant go wrong with anything there. Next time i want to try the macadamia pineapple pancakes. OMG it sounds decadent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy!!

We try to get to Kona Cafe for breakfast at least once every trip. I love the Loleiki juice (at least I think that's what is called and how its spelled ) and the press pot of Kona coffee. The Big Kahuna is great too with a mix of all the best breakfast stuff. You have a couple of mini pancakes with macadamia nut butter and pineapple on top, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and ham. The Tonga Toast is really popular but not really my cup of tea, its just too sweet for me in the morning.

Definitely try Kona for breakfast!

Mmm, can't wait! I'm eagerly awaiting the pressed pot kona coffee. I've also heard many people RAVE about the macadamia pancakes. Who knows, maybe we won't save it for our last day after all! Thanks!

Honestly, i wouldnt wait until the last day to go. I know i couldnt wait. I dont want to hype it up too much for you, cause then you'll be expecting a pot of gold only to be disapointed then you'll come back and ream me out. bahahahaha. I really think you'll like it thou.

This is hands down the best breakfast we've had on Disney property! Even simple scrambled eggs were AMAZING here.

No worries, that is why we are here. We always share the Big Kahuna. Totally enough food for two adults. One of the best values IMO for sitdown breakfast. We always save Ohana for our last morning, but work in Kona another day.

We make Kona a must do each trip once for breakfast (they serve later than some) and once for dinner. We haven't stayed at the Poly in about 10 years but that doesn't stop us from eating there!!

We stay at the Poly and always have breakfast at the Kona on our last morning for exactly the reason you stated. We usually check in with remote luggage/DME, thus getting rid of the luggage, and then have a relaxing breakfast. We are not fans of the Tonga Toast cause it's too sweet for us. Love, love, love the macadamia nut pancakes. Also love the big breakfast mentioned by the previous poster. Depending on whether you like a big breakfast or not, we've also been quite happy with the fruit plate (really pretty & yummy fresh fruit), as well as the sweet breads/continental type plate (can't remember the name!). Service is a bit uneven...sometimes great, other times...not so much! Can be a bit noisy but we like it and it's perfect for the last morning.

I could write a love song about Kona breakfast. You just can't go wrong. Of course there's Tonga Toast, which everyone knows is the world's most perfect breakfast food. Then there's the macadamia nut pancakes, which rank a close second. DH adores the Big Kahuna breakfast as well.

The ONLY thing I'm a bit unsure of is the fuss over the French press pot of coffee - I was unsure as to why it was such a big deal. But that is the only complaint I've ever had.

Just came back and had Kona breakfast for my husband's birthday... he loves it there and so do I! The food was once again fabulous... he had the Big Kahuna platter and I had Tonga Toast... we also had the huge fresh fruit plate. Everything was delish! I HIGHLY recomend for breakfast! Enjoy!

Kona is 1b for best breakfast in WDW, slightly behind 1a Grand Floridian Cafe (wins based on the maple vanilla french toast).

LOVE Kona breakfasts! My kids would rather have breakfast at Kona than have dinner at Le Cellier.

Love the Tonga Toast and the macadamia pancakes. Never was a fan of lilikoi even when we lived in Hawaii. If you're pressed for time you can always run downstairs to Captain Cooks and get the Tonga Toast quick serve. We do that a lot even when we're not staying at the Poly.

My favorite breakfast is the Samoan, which is two poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce over pulled pork (smoked) hash. Very different. Tonga Toast is way too sweet for me and everything else is fairly common although good.
