I made a PS for Kona Cafe for breakfast. I looked at the menu on www.allearsnet.com, and it all looked awesome (yes, I drooled). For those who have eaten there, what do you LOVE to have there at breakfast? And are the portions big enough to share?

TIA for your help!!!

We ate there twice on our December trip and everthing was delicious. The tonga toast is amazing- but its sweet and rich. I have to get that once. Everything on the menu is good, though. We always share a cup of Kona Coffee, too- that will wake you up in the morning! -Steph

We went to Kona for breakfast on 12/19, and we both got French toast (not the Tonga toast, just regular). It was really good! We also each got a side order of the breakfast potatoes, which were slightly spicey and very good. I guess if you're a really light eater it'd be big enough to share, but otherwise it was a good size portion for one.

The tonga toast is great but it is very sweet. Try the Kona pressed pot of coffee with it!

DH usually gets the eggs, bacon, potato, biscuit meal and he really enjoys that.
I used to always get the Tonga Toast, which of course if very yummy, but since we ate there twice on 1 trip I decided to get something different the second time. I tried the pancakes and OMG, they were the best pancakes Ive ever had, LOL! Very good and very big. I couldnt believe I ate them all but they were so good, I couldnt leave any. ;)

I always get the Big Kahuna--. And I agree-light eaters might share, but generally the portions seem quite adequate for one.

Hubby and I love the calabash breakfast..it is wonderful. Tonga toast is good, but we enjoy calabash more. Our family members have tried big kahuna..they said it was good also. We also love the lilokoi juice.

We had breakfast at Kona Cafe on 12/24. My niece (she's almost 20) had the kid's pancake breakfast (they came in the shape of a Mickey head) with a side of those yummy seasoned potatoes. She really enjoyed it, but couldn't finish it all. My 10 year old DD & I shared the Big Kahuna. It was tasty and plentiful; we weren't able to finish all of it, either. I wish I could figure out how to post a picture, because that was the one meal that I remembered to take pictures of!

I have to add that the fruit plate that thay have is really good also.

If I'm going to cheat on my diet, it's going to be at the Kona Cafe. I love the Macadamia Nut Pancakes, a side of ham, and a cup of Kona coffee.

eggs your way, Tonga Toast, French Toast....

the french toast - they gave me at least 6 pieces of it....

I love breakfast here!!!

The banana pecan pancakes are great! The tonga toast is good to - really sweet!

Wish I could sample a little bit of everything. No, we aren't big eaters, so sharing is a must. The Big Kahuna sounds good in that you get pancakes and French toast. Thanks everyone for posting your faves at Kona. We are so looking forward to our holiday in March!!!!

I had the Tonga Toast back in October. While it was HUGE, and tasty, it was just too sweet for me. I prefer savory foods for breakfast... I would have enjoyed it better as dessert after dinner. That said, if you like sweet stuff for breakfast, you gotta get it!

Kona Cafe was our last meal at Disney in June and we wished that it was our first.

The 100% Kona Press Pots was wonderful!!!!

Tonga Toast...you can share this with someone by adding a breakfast side or two. :cool1:

We ate at Kona Cafe for Christmas breakfast. We had PS', but they were not busy.
We eat at Kona probably more than any WDW restaurtant. But these were our first Kona Cafe breakfasts.
I had the Eggs Benedict. DH had the Tonga Toast.
I liked the Eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise sauce was veryyyy good. But put enough Hollandaise sauce on about anything and it is good, I think. ;)
DH was very impressed with the Tonga Toast.
We shared a pot of French pressed coffee.
I also ordered a fruit plate. The way it was described on the menu I was expecting more yogurt with melons and topping. (Something along the lines of what they serve at the Main St Bakery in MK.) But it was slices of melon just drizzled with yogurt and topping. I tasted it, but I am not a melon person, so didn't care for it. But DH ate quite a bit.

Then NYE Day we ate there again, by DH's request. I had something I cannot recall the name. But it was good.
Potatoes on the bottom, cheese, ham and mushrooms over that. Two eggs on the side.
DH instead ordered pineapple/macadamia nut pancakes.
Said they were okay. But he was disappointed he did not order the Tonga Toast again. He said he would be sure to next time.
And again a pot of pressed coffee. :cloud9:

I juat adore the Tonga toast and the Kona press pot!
