What is AWESOME for there to eat there? I'm not into seafood so help me out!!

Also, what kid choices do they have? I'm not sure how current the menus on wdwinfo and allears are......

I enjoyed the char-crusted filet mignon, while my DW and DS loved the shrimp and scallops. My DD had the vegetable rice bowl. She is a real picky eater. The filet was the best I've had in Disney.

2nd the vote for the filet! We love the chicken wings too.

My son had the Beef Teriyaki (10-oz sirloin strip) and really liked it! I took a bite of it and thought it was very good! I had the shrimp and scallops and they were kind of bland, wish I'd ordered what he did, even though I'm not much of a steak eater. But the teriyaki was fairly strong on it, so you have to like that kind of flavoring, which I do.

For kid entrees.. I don't know, but that Kona Kone for dessert, surrounded with cotton candy, looked like fun! :goodvibes

My DH and I love the Teriyaki Steak too. My DH and my DS10 usually get the sticky wings as an appetizer. We love Kona.

Oh my goodness- don't miss the coconut almond chicken!!!! I know it sounds crazy to get chicken over steak but my parents got the teryaki beef and the filet and after tasting my chicken they both wished they had ordered it! It was simply mouthwatering and came with a deliscious salad.. mmmmmmmm!!

Another vote for the filet - LOVED it!! (Another non-seafood person here!) The potatoes were so good, too!

I'm pretty sure my kids shared a burger there.

I've had the filet and the teriyaki steak...both were awesome! We also order the sticky wings to share. Kona is one of our very favorite restaurants. You won't be disappointed!!

We like the teriyaki steak! Also, the vegetable rice bowl is very good. When we were there I know that there was pasta on the kids menu as DS ordered that and liked it.

beef teriyaki and white chocolate cheesecake.....YUM YUM YUM!!!!

Filet was incredible. Coffee was as good as I have ever had also!!!

Two questions -

Is the teriyaki steak spicy? I had teriyaki chicken at a restaurant around here and it was so spicy I could hardly eat it. I like teriyaki, but I like the sweet teriyaki with maybe a little kick to it.

Are the sticky wings spicy? (I know...I have a thing for spicy things...if it's too hot it will ruin the rest of the meal).

My DBF and I are eating there in September and I'm really excited! Thanks for the information in advance! :)

We have eaten at Kona multiple times but in February I had one of my favorite dishes there.
:cool1: Pomegranate Barbecued Pork Chop served on pan-roasted fingerling potatoes and applewood smoked bacon braised Swiss chard. I substituted mashed potatoes instead. This pork chop melted in your mouth and was huge. I will have a hard time ordering anything else now from Kona.

Never been there before but will be there in 2 weeks and Kona's is on our list of ADRs. Can't wait just starting putting things in my suitcases this morning. Getting excited!!!

I reviewed Kona Cafe dinner in my trip report. I had the prime rib, my sister had the teriyaki steak (not spicy, to the person who wondered), Mom's friend had the coconut almond chicken, and Mom originally had the Ono (white fish; I still say, "Oh no, don't go for the Ono!"), but changed to the pomegranate pork chop ("Best pork chop I've ever had!").

Both my prime rib and my sister's steak were very good. I took a bite of Mom's pork chop and agreed with her that it was indeed probably the best pork chop, ever. I didn't taste my Mom's friend's chicken, but she said it was very good. And she's a picky eater.

Kona is very underrated, but please let's keep this secret to ourselves! ;)

Kona Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants on property and being a local we go there a lot! We also get the sticky wings every time we go whether it's lunch or dinner and we sometimes get the dumplings which are also fabulous!! I love the macadamia nut mahi mahi but I've never had a bad meal there. At lunch they have a steak salad that I dream about :) :rotfl:
