Both my kids loved this entree. We stopped going to Kona when they took this off the menu.

Oh my goodness I was SO upset when they took this off the menu. If anyone has successfully ordered it since then I would love to know. Kona Cafe used to be our favorite restaurant at Disney. Hands down. But one by one, they've taken everything off their menu that we used to order. The coconut chicken, ginger crusted rib eye to name a few.. and the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. This cheesecake was outstanding. And they ended up replacing it with a low sugar jasmine infused cheesecake that is apparently disgusting. This is a direct quote from our server one of the last times we ate there, "I do not let my guests order that cake." Are you kidding me?? Why would they take all of this delicious food off the menu only to replace it with items that the cast members won't even "let" their guests order?? In addition to the food that we loved, Kona had a special place in our hearts. We ate there right after we got engaged in Magic Kingdom, and twice on our honeymoon and for birthdays, Valentine's Day etc. We have not been back since they took our last favorite item off the menu. Sorry for the rant! I'm just so upset that they messed up a good thing. Anyone else miss these items?

Totally agree. Kona is still good for breakfast but that's it. Dinner is off the table, so to speak.

I'm so glad to hear we're not the only ones! I miss the "old" Kona so much! I wish they would reconsider and re-do their menu again.

I feel your pain! I check the menus online every now and then.. I suppose I still hold a tiny glimmer of hope that they will bring it back. The first time we discovered they took the coconut chicken off (which unfortunately I did not discover until I was in the restaurant ordering) I ordered the pan noodles instead and they were not good at all in my opinion. But I suppose it could have been bitterness from missing the coconut chicken!

I miss the teriyaki steak..........

Last time I ordered the "sustainable fish with forbidden rice and swiss chard". It was a grilled sea bass that time, the swiss chard was not bitter, and the forbidden rice was a sweet black grain rice. It didn't sound so great to read it, but the waiter recommended it and it was really delicious! I plan to order it again.

My go to dessert there is the chocolate fondue with fruit and cookies to dip.

Has anyone tried ordering the coconut chicken anyway and seeing if they'll do it "off-menu" super secret style?

We'll be there in Oct. and would love to hear recommended dishes!
