Okay, I have seen Kona Cafe get really good reviews here so I want to try it out.

I am wondering though should we go there for breakfast or dinner?

Right now, my daughter eats the best at breakfast, but our trip is a ways away so that could change.

We will be on the regular dining plan, but I am not opposed to paying OOP for a couple meals (mostly breakfast, as they tend to be cheaper). So, if it's worth it to eat both breakfast and dinner there, Im game.

We are staying at the Poly, so its easy to get to!!

So, advice??

The Kona Cafe is my family's favorite all-around restaurant at WDW! We stay at the Polynesian too, so it's very convenient to go for breakfast almost every morning and at least dinner once during our trip. I highly recommend the Pineapple-Macadamia pancakes for breakfast. :thumbsup2 I have pictures of some of our meals on my web site, the link is below, click on the section for our WDW trips and then there are links to the restaurants.

We will be staying at the Poly April 23rd to May 1st and like the menu at the Kona. Should we make ADRs? We will mostly eat breakfast there every morning but are early risers and will be there by 7-7:30. This will be our first stay at the Poly, we have stayed at CBR in the past but wanted to try a deluxe and love the island theme which is so different than our frozen terrain here in VT.

if you are staying there, I would try breakfast and dinner. That's what we did when we stayed at Grand Floridain (we ate at 1900 Park fare for breakfast and dinner and Grand Floridain cafe too). When we went to AKL we tried Boma for Breakfast and dinner. Its so convient eating at the resort you are staying at.

We enjoy both!
After a late night or party at the MK, we like to sleep in a bit and have a relaxing breakfast at Kona. Coffee is so good!
Kona is also where we usually go for dinner on our first night then we head over to MK to enjoy the fireworks.
Both meals are totally different and both very enjoyable. Guess it is time to try a lunch!

We did both on our trip last week and both were new experiences for us. I personally preferred dinner, but there are some really outstanding breakfast items on the menu as well.

We are not big breakfast eaters so we always book dinner and for us it is a must do. However, if you like big breakfasts then I would do both. Make sure you try the Tonga Toast (which you can also get at Captain Cooks, the Poly QS restaurant, although it is slightly different).

Both breakfast and dinner are great! I have both booked for my trip in April too.:goodvibes

Both.
When we stayed at the Poly we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner there.
Everything was fantastic.
Even if you are staying there I recommend you make ADR's if you plan on dining at *peak* dining times. There were a few days that we couldn't get in.

Kona is my favorite sit down --can't miss with breakfast or Dinner:thumbsup2

Seriously, I think I need some of you to twist my arm a little more!! :rotfl:

I am planning on doing both breakfast and dinner. That is what I thought I would end up doing, but needed some reassurance from the "DIS crew"!!

Thanks so much for the help!!

Last trip we were dissapointed for dinner but we always love breakfast!! We are giving dinner another try this go round.
