Quick question. Not sure if I'm at the right section but here goes. We are staying at the WL but have a Kona breakfast scheduled one morning at 8am. We were thinking we would drive our car over to eat. Can we leave our car at the Poly and ride the monorail to MK after we eat?? Will our car be ok in the Poly lot?

You can park at the Poly lot, but you will be given a ''parking pass" for only for 3 hours, so you would have to move your car after your ADR. A better option is just to park at the TTC and walk to the Poly. The Poly is right next door (we stayed at the Poly and did not bother with the Poly monorail stop, we always walked to the TTC) and the walk is pleasant, through the pretty Poly Pacific-inspired landscaping.

Technically you will get a parking pass that is only good for a time window. When I was a resident down there and had friends visiting with kids we would do 'Ohana breakfast. I would just not put the pass in the windows and keep the car parked there all day. It was never ticketed or towed.

Of course it is try at your own risk but we had multiple cars on multiple visits and it was never an issue. I think it is one of those things they do to keep most people from trying it but don't really enforce it.

We went there to eat the first week of May and parked there. The guard at the gate didn't give us a parking pass or said that we could only park there a certain length of time. We had our meal, and took the monorail over to MK.....BUT, we were there for maybe 3 hours or so. I would never consider eating at Kona and parking my car there ALL day.

Other poster is right, the TTC is not far from Poly and is walkable. I didn't even think of this at the time!

Although we could park for free at the TTC & hike over, we figure we don't need additional walking on top of the park hikes, lol. So we always pay to valet park when we have a meal like that scheduled...there's no limit on how long you leave the car there for valet parking (as long as you pick it before the next day, 6:00 am, lol.)

We HAVE seen cars being towed from both the Poly and the Contemporary at not particularly crowded times of the year (January, May, September) Since there was more than one tow truck there moving cars, I don't think it was just someone with a car that needed service.

Sure, you might be fine leaving the car all day, but we figure it's less stressful to just pay the valet parking fees and not worry about whether or not our car will still be there at the tired end of a long day in the park. Plus, valet fees are far cheaper than towing fees:thumbsup2

Why not just take the farry from the WL to the MK and then transfer over to the GF/Poly ferry?

Or, take the boat to the MK and then the monorail around to the Poly and back again.
