Kona ADR Time Question

Well, I stalled around and didn't get the ADR time that I wanted so I need some advice. :guilty: My friend and I will be arriving on 9/19 heading over to MK around 3:00 p.m. I wanted a 7:00 ADR for Kona so that we could have some time in the park, then jump on the monorail, eat and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. My two choices for Kona were 6:45 or 7:40. I didn't know if 7:40 would give us enough time to eat and get out to the beach in time for the 9:00-9:15 showing. I took 6:45 p.m., but really hate to go that early. I'm afraid I'll watch the clock at MK so we head over in time. What do you all think? Keep the 6:45 p.m. and tour the hotel after we eat or do you think 7:40 would not be too late?

BTW: How long should I estimate to get from MK to Kona?

Thanks again for all the great advice.

From MK on monorail it is the third stop. So maybe 10-15 minutes. If the boat is avaliable take the boat.

Rl, it's tough for me to leave the parks early too. Here's what I'd do: Go with the 7:40 ADR. Leave MK around 7:00 and take the monorail over to Kona (MK monorail station to Kona podium should take about 15 mins). Check in a little early - since Kona typically isn't crowded to the rafters, you should be able to get in early, say by 7:30 pm. That would give you more than an hour to enjoy your dinner. Then, you'll be on the beach by 9 pm and ready to enjoy the big show.

See if you can get a drink 'to go' - it's quite relaxing....
