Has anyone seen/heard anything about their veteran's day sale this year or if they're having it?

I received a catalog in the mail yesterday. Black Friday sales start Nov 1st on some things.

That's what I see. I did an online order pickup today at Kohl's, and a flyer was with my pickup advertising Friday, Nov 1 Black Friday unlocked on select deals in store and online. Along with that was a coupon about Kohl's cash $15 on $50 Nov 1, and a take 20% any way you pay Nov 1-6 with promo code HOLIDAYS, and of course a list of exclusions. It seems stackable. Nothing specifically about Veteran's Day sale I've seen yet, just this.

Hmmm...weird. Thanks for the info. I'll be kinda bummed if they don't have it. - I think that's when I do most of my Kohls shopping...they generally had pretty good deals.

I've also done most of my christmas shopping on the veterans day sale too. Sure hope it's happening this year!

Kohl's is so versatile with their sales, always has something going on, that I can't imagine they wouldn't do a Veteran's Day sale. Is it just under wraps maybe because they are teasing an early Black Friday on 1 Nov? We'll see. And, now I have a 25% off Kohl's with another return, this time returning for DH on something he ordered from Amazon, seems like I should stop at Kohl's now tomorrow also for Christmas shopping.

Last year, word of the Veteran's Day codes leaked out on Slickdeals around Oct 27th. I'm beginning to wonder if they are not doing it this year because their sales seemed a bit different this month than in past years - they've had a lot of $10 off $50 codes that combined with some pretty aggressive other codes. This past weekend, they had a combination of codes that worked on sweaters, shoes and a few other things that per my calculations resulted in slightly lower prices than I would have paid for certain items during the Veteran's Day sale, so I went ahead and grabbed several things. They were also giving triple reward points to sweeten the pot even more.

But I still have my fingers crossed ;)

And I do have to add I have been happy lately with Kohl's shipping - I am getting items A LOT faster than I used to with them. Some arrive in only a day or two, whereas it used to take a week and a half for just about everything. I believe they might be having individual stores closer to me ship items instead of everything coming out of a single central warehouse. It makes me wonder if the Veteran's Day sale would overload that new methodology too much, so maybe they are not doing it and are hoping to spread the load out across many more weeks.

Per Slickdeals, the sale is happening, and here are the codes:

VETSDAY10 - $10 off $25 (Nov 10-11 only)
GIVING30 - 30% off for Kohl's charge holders (Nov 7-17)
NOVMVCFREE - Free shipping for Kohl's charge holders (Nov 7-17) if you don't already have it (they appear to have given me free shipping thru the end of the year as an MVC - it is automatically applied to any order although I sometimes have to apply a coupon code for it to get applied - but then I can remove that coupon code and the free shipping remains. Odd.)

Disclaimer: I have no direct knowledge as to whether or not these are correct, I'm just reposting what was posted on Slickdeals.

I was able to go ahead and get the robot vacuum I wanted for both sets of parents this Christmas - used the extra 20% off code and the $5 free Kohls cash for picking up in store instead of shipping. Grabbed a toy for BFFs daughter and a work sweater for me for under $350. Got $90 Kohls Cash coming that I can use starting tomorrow - will apply toward more gifts. Pretty good!

Remember to go through a miles or cash back portal for more savings. I used the Skymiles portal and got 2 extra miles per dollar. Currently working on a Delta Amex sign up bonus, so I will have a nice stash of Skymiles coming very soon! Happy shopping everyone!

Good point, I forget this sometimes.

FYI - I got the mailer for the sale yesterday, and it has the $10 off $25 code as VETERANS, not VETSDAY10. Sometimes they issue multiple codes, but if you try VETSDAY10 and it doesn't work, use VETERANS. Dates of this code are confirmed as the 10th and 11th.

There are also some other codes that should stack:
$10 off $50 Home Sale items - ENTERTAIN10 (11/7 thru 11/17)
20% off Fine and Silver jewelry - DIAMOND20 (11/7 thru 11-17)

Just wanted to say that free shipping code for kohl's card holders has been a life saver. Thanks so much@MomToOne.

Thank you for posting codes! What is everyone ordering? I feel very unprepared for shopping this year. The kids are college age or older so money will probably be their needed gift. We have also been in a holding pattern on moving so I'm trying not to buy too much that will need to be packed up when we do finally move.

So far-
Frozen pjs for the 2 college kids, pjs are traditional and DS wants funny ones so matching his Disney obsessed sis should be entertaining

Frozen ornaments for married DD- also Disney obsessed

Flannel shirt for DS and placemats for me

What is everyone ordering?

So far I've only placed 6 orders - usually I'm in double digits by now LOL But I bought a fair amount of things in the weekends leading up to now because the code combinations were actually for the particular items I was getting. Also a couple of things I would have bought are now out of stock - but I knew that risk.

So far I've gotten some shoes (that won't be on sale Black Friday), a cookie scoop, a pair of sweats for DD19, some work clothes for me and a couple of candlesticks.

The challenge is getting my basket as close to $25 as I can to optimize the values of the coupons. Half the things I am eyeing are $24.99 of course, which leaves me looking for fillers. But I hate buying stuff just for the filler value, I want things that are inexpensive but are actually of some sort of use to me! In the past I would pick up small beauty items as stocking stuffers for DD, but those are now all excluded from coupons, including the non-premium brands.

What about washcloths or hand towels? Socks?

I have since placed more orders-

-boxers for DH
-boxers for DS
-tablecloth and napkin rings
-2 pairs of tall pants, we will see if they fit
-set of French White corningware

That will give $20 in Kohls cash and 2 $5 Kcash for picking up orders if they both go through. It states 1 per 24 hrs but popped up on 2 orders. I also have a $5 in store gift coupon. Will look for gifts or throw pillows.

I've got socks and washcloths/towels out the ying yang, some bought as fillers on previous years sales when I could convince myself that more was somewhat needed - I'm way past that level now LOL

So far I am sticking with some single piece melamine Christmas tableware. Don't really need them, but they will be used if I have them...maybe I'll take cookies to work for some folks and tell them to keep the plate :)

I've had a few orders where I needed a filler--I've added a towel or fleece throw to donate to the local animal shelter. For an extra dollar or two I'd rather get something I know will be put to good use.

I ended up with 17 orders. I think I'm done.

Some of the things I bought:
  • two button-down shirts and a two packs of socks for DS
  • 12 Croft & Barrow classic tees - long and short sleeved
  • socks
  • slippers
  • two jackets - will probably only keep one
  • kitchen rugs
  • shower curtain, towels and rugs for master bath
  • Instant Pot
  • Cuisinart coffee grinder
Back in October, Safeway had a deal for 10X reward points when you purchased $50+ in Kohl's gift cards. I used my Amex Blue Cash Preferred card, which gives me 6% cash back, to buy $200 in Kohl's gift cards to use during the sale. I still ended up putting some of it on my Kohl's charge.

Question for the Kohls experts: I am looking at an item that's about $50. With the current sale, I would get $10 off plus 30% off the balance. (It's not a home item so the extra $10 off doesn't apply.) Is there any reason to think that Black Friday would be a better deal? (Aside from maybe the price itself being lower.)

I guess I could order it now and see what happens on BF.

Their Black Friday ad is posted - take a look and see if it will be part of their sale. If it's not, then you are at the mercy of the normal Kohl's pricing fluctuations, so who knows. Black Friday you will get $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent after coupons, but I'd rather get the $10 off the base price that you get during this sale - Kohl's Cash has a host of issues so I don't let it sway my decision on any purchase.
