I was out shopping tonight for last minute gifts and went into Kohl's. They had some great sales but the lines were 20 customers long with only 3 registers open!
Rather than get in line, I did some more shopping. In the course of shopping I noticed two young men, dressed almost alike
, who were employees, standing around chatting in women's lingerie. I said in a very nice tone, "I am surprised that there are so many people out on the floor when there are only a couple registers open and the lines are 20 customers deep". I was SHOCKED at the response. " Well, don't look at me, I am tired and my feet hurt and I am taking a break" in the nastiest, rudest tone one could imagine. I said, "Aren't you rude", and walked away. That would have been bad enough, but I could have overlooked it. Ten minutes later the Bobsy Twins show up in women's sports wear. They trot up to another employee and said; "A, you won't believe what some woman said to us" and they start their story, at which point I interupted and said, "You mean THIS woman?, you were very rude". Then they started shouting at me that they deserved a break, at which point I interupted and said, " I think your manager needs to hear about this. What are your names?" Both of them refused to tell me their names and walked out of the store. I turned to "A", who was very nice but said she "didn't want to get involved" by telling me their names, but she did tell me her name. I went to customer service and the manager came. She was very nice. I told her that I like Kohl's and that the employees have always been wonderful up until these two. She knew exactly who I was talking about and apologized, promising to talk to them. She then handed me a $25 gift card. I told her that she didn't need to give me anything, that I reported them because I like the store and they created a scene, not only to me, but other customers in the area. She insisted that I take the card. I thought she was very responsive and I certainly didn't expect anything.
