I purchased some things online that earned me kohls cash on Thursday, but now today they're a better price. What happens to that kohls cash I earned is I take back part of that order? It's about $50 worth to return, I'll be keeping the other things which add up to about $70

kohls changed the return and use of kohls cash with returns

they used to list the kohls cash at the end as one of your payments--then if you had to return anything you got back what ever you paid for it--which left the kohls case for the rest of the things so then the things you kept were even a bigger savings

now every item you buy gets a % of the kohls cash so thats the amount you get back

so actually you better make sure everything you buy is what you really need or want cause when yo return it you lose part of the kohls cash which to me isnt fair but lately I dont like shopping at kohls anyways

hope this makes sense

Perfectly fair. Otherwise, there would be plenty of customers buying big ticket items to maximize on kohls cash, with the intention of returning them but keeping the kohls cash.

Here is Khol's information on returns that have earned Khol's Cash:

For additional scenarios there are these two questions and answers:

I just returned items from an order I earned Kohl's cash on but did not use it, knowing most of the items would be returned. I received all of my money back, and the return deactivated the Kohl's cash. I've had it mess up my returns before and divide Kohl's cash among each item so I got less back even if I didn't use the Kohl's cash, so it looks like that policy or glitch is fixed.

This is what should always happen. If you didn't use the Kohls cash you should ALWAYS get ALL of your money back (they are basically unlawfully taking your money otherwise.) Having said that, Kohls can be a real pain and in my opinion often times the associates don't know what/how to do proper returns so there's a good chance they'll mess it up, so be mindful and 100% fight anything less than a full refund.

Whenever possible I now use Kohl's cash against the item that has the least chance of a return. For example, I have $30 in KC and $100 in items in my basket. I do a transaction for $40 in items that I know won't be returned, then I purchase the other items on a separate transaction.

Thanks for all of the info everyone! I don't shop a ton at Kohl's (or most places) anymore and almost never earn Kohl's Cash. This was like a Black Friday fluke for me due to buying jeans for DH and a gift in one go.

Since they stopped taking expired Kohl's cash, I pretty much only shop Kohl's at Christmas. It's just a pain.

I did take advantage of the $15 earn the last couple of days plus I have a $18 coupon they sent me and I have returns to make. So, I've got quite a bit to spend. Maybe I can finish up my Kohl's shopping for this season and move on to Target for my 20% off. lol

Alright Kohls cash experts...
I spent $134 on Black Friday and earned $30 in Kohls cash for reaching $100. I need to return a pair of adidas pants that were $32.99. I am still over the $100 mark without those pants. Will I get to keep all of my kohls cash?

You should be able to.

As long as those are pre-tax amounts, you will get to keep it. Kohl's cash is figured on pre-tax.

Hmm..that will be close. I took $32.99 and added 5.5% tax = $34.80.
Receipt total $134.48 minus $34.80 = $99.68

That will be close enough, won't it? I thought I had read on BFADS that you just had to be within $2 to get the Kohls cash.

What do you think?

This is according to Khol's:

*Notice this is for their normal promotion where it's $10 earned however Black Friday it was $15.

Ok not about Kohls cash but was just curious about something. Is everbody elses Kohls's like ours and is just a mess. Good luck finding anything in the pants section. Pants are just all mixed up and piled on top of each other. Its like they have never heard of a stock clerk.

It seems like they have gotten really messy. Didn't always look like that. I have been disappointed lately when I have gone there. The selection in my size is very sad and the items look the same year after year. I have been getting more at Penneys.

For the most part the Khol's I go to is fairly good at attempting at least other than the clearance areas which are just a lost cause. The exception is shoes...the shoes area is never organized and I just give up as I can never find my size but that's again usually the clearance area of the shoes.

We were at Kohl's this part wekend, and it was a bit more "messy" than usual, but I attribute that to the craziness of Black Friday and the volume of customers in the store. While the clerks are supposed to keep the items neatly organized, part of that is on the shoppers themselves. I've seen plenty of customers rummage through things, pack an entire cart worth of items, and then decide they don't want them and just drop them off wherever they are, not back where they should go.
