Does anyone know if you can use Kohl's cash for gift cards...NOT a Kohl's gift card...the other gift cards they sell? We just got a lot of Kohl's cash, but I don't know what we need to buy there right now. Maybe if I could use it to get a gift card to someplace, that would take care of a couple of Christmas gifts.

The T&C on the Kohl's cash specifically say it cannot be used for gift cards.

Here is the wording on the most recent Kohl's Cash I got in the Black Friday sale:

Kohl's Cash® will be applied prior to percent-off total purchase discounts. Kohl's Cash® Coupon may not be redeemed (1) on purchases of Kohl's Cares® cause merchandise or other charitable items; (2) to reduce customer's Kohl's Charge or any third party charge account balance; (3) as price adjustments on prior purchases; or (4) to purchase Gift Cards. If merchandise purchased earning a Kohl's Cash® Coupon is subsequently returned or price adjusted, the value of the Kohl's Cash® Coupon previously earned and/or the amount of the merchandise refund will be reduced to reflect any unearned value. Return value of merchandise purchased with a Kohl's Cash® Coupon may also be subject to adjustment. Offer is nontransferable.

I recently had to return something I used Kohl's cash on. I was prepared to lose the extra benefit of the Kohl's cash upon return. In other words, I bought a $25 item, used $10 Kohl's cash, and paid $15. I was surprised when I returned it that they gave me the $15 back on my card as expected, but gave me a $10 merchandise card that is good for a long time. So although it is sort of working the system, you can prolong the life of your Kohl's cash if you buy and then return something.

I discovered this unintentionally - so please don't criticize.

I hate kohl's cash with a burning passion. It has made me think twice before I buy anything at kohls. It really pisses me off that if I have to return somthing that didn't fit or I just didn't like that kohls thinks it's ok to take $10 of real money from my refund because I earned kohls cash. I do 90% of my shopping online so my orders always arrive after the "cash" has to be used or expired.
I'm sure people took advantage of the return policy's in the past so they had to do something to stop the fraud but there has to be a better option for the honest shoppers. I would be fine with a merchandise credit or something similar.
Anyways. I have $105 in kc to use, I plan on buying something that I can easily resell on ebay or craigslist. I am pretty much done with my christmas shopping and the money will help pay off the credit card.
