Kodak Playsport....anyone have one? Thoughts?

I am trying to decide between the two. I might go with the playsport so I can take stills also.

I got the PlaySport for Christmas. We got it at Best Buy and made sure to get the Memory card that does the HD quality video. DH actually gave it to me about a week before Christmas so we could tape DD(7months) opening her Christmas gifts. I LOVE it!!!:lovestruc I was orinigally considering the flip but so glad I got the PlaySport instead.

My DD is enjoying hers so far. We haven't used it in water yet nor have we downloaded her clips, yet.

But it seems that it is very easy to use. She has filmed quite a bit of our travels this week.

the playsport also comes with an HDMI cable to connect the camera with an HDTV so you can watch the videos on TV. The videos look great on the big screen.

I got the Playsport for DH for Christmas and so far, he's liking it! It was to replace our 15 yo camera that won't hold a charge anymore-it's amazing the difference in size, the Playsport is like a cellphone!!! He has used it a few times already. We got the 4-whatever card but reading here, I might get an 8 before our Disney trip in Feb. Using it in regular light is easy, but he's still experimenting to get the best low-light shots. We havent' tried stills yet.

I also ordered a floating wriststrap, directly from Kodak-it's a little orange lifevest on a wriststrap  You snap it on if you're using it in water, so if the camera is dropped in the water, it will float and you see the bright orange. Since some of our family has butterfingers :lmao: we thought this was a good idea, rather than scrounging the bottom of a POP pool for it, hahaha.

Like I said, our other camera was 15 years old (our engagement present to ourselves :lovestruc) and was like $500 then. This great little Playsport was just over $100! I was amazed.

Oh, I almost forgot-anyone have a good case for this? Dh thinks that might be a good thing to get. What kind?

well,I have a sad ending to my playsport story:sick: I loved the portability, etc of the camera,it was so fun underwater....and the videos looked great on that little screen.....totally different story when we tried for a full 3 1/2 weeks to download into the computer...no matter what program we tried,it wasn't 'optimized' in any format.... I am not totally 'computer stupid' but I could not figure this out- my teen ds who is a whiz, couldn't get it to work- the videos are in the computer, but basically unwatchable- they're choppy, and flawed. some of them are like watching a still picture with some sound....We tried everything.
I finally returned it as defective. I could think of no other reason why this camera, which so many others seem to love, just was garbage with our computer system. SO I figured it had to be a defective item,as Kodak usually creates user-friendly items.
oh well.... it was cool idea, but we spent far too much time on this,so we just went back to our old cameras.
