I have loved the advise that Gail has given in this thread. Loved what I purchased from sterlingtek. But guess what ... DH took it to China and somehow blew the battery charger! Can I just order the cord/plug in or do I need to get the whole unit again? Do I need to spend a lot for a charger?

Kimmie,
I am not sure what he purchased for a battery charger. Could you give me more info? Glad I could help you!!!! I remember having a lot of fun doing it.
I purchased my Kodak DX3700 digital camera a few years ago and it is great. I take a lot of pictures! I have so many digital pictures. You cannot go wrong with anything Kodak.
Best tip I can give is to purchase your SD cards at Sam's Club. They are cheap and give a lot of memory.

We purchased the one reccomended by SterlingTek. Its the MH-C204F Rapid Charger/Conditioner by Powerex. Great little charger, but I think when he plugged it in along with the laptop in China, it may have been more than it could handle. lol I did get a cheaper one at Walmart, just so we could charge up the batteries, but I would like to get the other one running too. When I asked the *pro* at Walmart he told me that you cannot just buy the plug-in, you need to purchase everything. (which is another holding case). Hope I am making sense. The one from SterlinkTek was not cheap (compared to the version I purchased from Walmart). What is the difference?
Kimmie,
Before you purchase anything else, call Sterling and see if it is covered under a warranty. Just tell them it died.
As to the charger, yes, you have to purchase the entire thing, primarily because it is probably the case that died.
Good luck and let me know how you do.
Thanks Gail! I still am wondering what the difference is between a more expensive charger and a *Walmart ish* type. Both were quick charging, I believe 1 hour.
Thanks!
