Easyshare C875 - you can take great firework photos.
Any thing good or bad about this camera? It's $199.99, I know nothing about dig camera - my DMom has kodaks and just loves them.
docking station yes or no
printer yes or no

IMO

Kodak digicams are very simple to use, BUT also IMO...

I would not rate them near the top in any category where it comes to image quality, not even price. And I say this in comparison with similarly priced competitors, not a high end Kodak vs a low end Fuji(etc...).

Dock is an over priced gimmick, I prefer a $9 card reader to transfer photos and I also would take Epson/HP/Canon printers over comparably priced Kodak printers.

Yes you can set a Kodak camera into a dock and print with a touch of a button, but really it saves only seconds. And if you are going to do any editing it saves no time at all.

If you can do basic stuff with your PC I would save money and buy a better camera/printer setup and skip the dock.

daughter recently won a different kodak camera with the docking and printing station...while i probably wouldn't use the printer much since i don't print out many smaller photos, if you do i think it seems like a nice thing( ie she does take mostly snapshots). with her camera you can do minor adjustments in camera ie probably most of what you can do with kodak software that comes with the camera...and then do everything from the dock..if you are a normal snapshot/vacation type photographer i think it would be useful...that being said i have no idea what they cost but i was favorable impressed with it for her even though i wouldn't use it myself. i also would have to say, she had a 4?? powershot before which was pretty bad, worthless in low light..this one is a dz7?? which isn't rated that well and i haven't used it but once but i took a few low light shots that turned out fine with them...so either kodak has improved or her old camera was bad even for kodak

What are your criteria?

For example...
Long zoom (bulky) vs compact?
Low light?
Image Stabilization?
Memory Card type?
Budget?

I'm sure you'll get some good feedback, but would be helpful to know a few more specifics.

What dig cams would you suggest i research?
Olympus?

Canon
Sony
Fuji
Panasonic
Nikon
and
Olympus

They all make decent cameras but I would avoid the very entry level products from Fuji and Olympus, once you skip past those they are all have merits.

The choice should take into consideration your preferences and shooting needs. IE some place more importance on SIZE(compactness), while others may want a camera with a long zoom.
