I called early this morning to see about applying the new ZQL or ZQM codes to my existing Dec reservation at POP. The CM told me POP was not available, but AS Sports or AS Movies (only) was. It would be $515.47 with ZQL and $827.39 with ZQM (for eight nights and a one day MYW ticket). An emergency came up and I had to hang up before I could book it.
I called back 1 1/2 hours later. The second CM told me that at least a 6 day MYW ticket was required to book either the ZQL or ZQM pkgs. I told him I knew AP holders had booked it yesterday with just a one day MYW ticket and that that was the way pkgs usually worked. He said that was a mistake and he was reading directly from their info that a minimum 6 day MYW ticket was required to book these pkgs. He quoted me $795.46 for the ZQL pkg. He also tried to push me to go ahead and book it because no way was an AP code going to be able to beat this VISA code. He also told me that the only Value available was AS Sports. At that point I told him I'd think about it, hung up and called right back.
The third time I got a rather abrupt CM who point blank told me that this code wouldn't save an AP holder anything, due to having to spend $75.62 for the one day ticket. She said it would only save me like $22.00 total from what my rack rate room only now was (if you counted the $75.62 MYW ticket). She didn't even want to give me a total. She also said that now none of the Values were available and I'd have move up to a moderate resort. I again hung up and called right back.
This time I got a very nice, knowledgeable CM. She told me POP was not available, but all three All Stars were. She also verified that all I had to buy was a one day MYW ticket. She gave me the same quotes as the lady did early this morning of $515.47 and $827.39. I got eight nights at AS Sports and a one day MYW ticket for $515.47 (compared to the $738.00 I was paying rack rate for the room at POP). I saved $222.53, plus I'll have a $75.62 MYW ticket left over to use to upgrade my AP later. I saved $298.15 on the room portion, but the one day ticket took away $75.62 of my savings.
Oh, she also said that they hadn't heard anything about AP discounts, but didn't see how an AP discount could possible beat the 40.5% off that the Chase VISA code gave. The room portion of my pkg was just $439.85 (or $54.98/night including tax).
FYI: eight nights with a one day ticket at a moderate was $963.55 with ZQL and $1275.47 with ZQM (meaning room portion was $887.93 or $110.99/night with tax).
