Know Before You Go Updated - May 17 - Testing rule changes

When I scheduled last week, I only needed one OnPoint account to purchase the tests and schedule the appointment, but then each patient needs to create a patient registration with HealthTrack at their cov19.health website. So I created three patient registrations and got emails for those, each with a unique confirmation number. It's my understanding that OnPoint asks for these patient registration codes during your appointment.

Here's the first part of the OnPoint appointment confirmation email where they tell you to do patient registration:

Event Name: Virtual Testing - COVID OTC (Bring Your Own Kit)

Hello,

(4 CUSTOMER LIMIT PER APPOINTMENT)

Please fill out our patient registration here:

https://cov19.health

Sitecode:

ONPTCORP

We used OnPoint for our pre test for the Wish MV. We had a 7 am appointment on Tuesday before the Thursday cruise. We had a bit of an incident which was totally not OnPoint's fault. I created an account days before and ordered 3 tests for the 3 of us. I filled out the patient registration for me but did not see where to add my friends' patient registration so thought I could just give them the info during the testing zoom call. Nope. Bad move on my part. The proctor was very patient and tried to walk me through adding them but we only had the short amount of time for the appointment and my cell phone was not working with zoom (even though I tried it out beforehand)....but luckily another friend not testing had her laptop for us to use. But, trying to take and upload pics of my friends' insurance cards and licenses on an unfamiliar device under pressure just did not work. I kept asking if we could reschedule after I added all the info but he said he would wait. Well of course we ran out of time and he said he had to hang up. He sent me a new email to use to schedule a new appt. I got all the info uploaded and ready and got all the confirmation numbers and made the new appt for 9 am.

Whew...once the zoom call on the computer started it was easy peasy. Took less then 10 minutes for all 3 of us to test. She verified our info and watched us each open the test and swab and then she only needed a few minutes to see the results on the test kit. We had to hold them up to the camera. She emailed each of us our results within the hour and we uploaded them to Safe Passage. I kept checking SP and we were cleared to sail by 6:00 pm that evening.

Mind you all this was done in our WDW hotel room at Old Key West.

So, if more than one person is testing MAKE SURE everyone's patient reg info is filled out in advance.

I would definitely use the service again.

We used these test kits which are my favorite so far. Target has them for $7.99.

For on point when did you get that email that talked about the Covid 19 health link. I have not seen that. I signed up weeks ago and paid for the telemedicine visit and booked for Saturday night aug 6 but have not received any confirmation from them and the customer service is useless. Their chat feature is useless and they don’t call you back at all.
More trying to figure out how I’m confirmed.

Did you receive an Email with a Zoom link for your appointment? It should be in that email. Check your Junk folder, that is where it was for me.

Did you get it right after you made the appointment or a few days prior. I made the appt 32 days prior to the appt time?
I will look in my junk and deleted folder.

I got it immediately after making the appointment.

They will send a reminder email with both the Zoom link and the patient registration link on the day of test, a few hours ahead of time and maybe day before…their process seems to have evolved a bit so I’m not sure about a second reminder email these days. The reminder email will come from notifications@calendly,com, so maybe add that to your address book before your test date.. It will show up as from “Virtual MAxx with MAxx being their code for the rep assigned to proctor the test. Note - the initial appointment confirmation email with the patient registrations and Zoom links was sent from VirtualMAxx@onpoint.health

You can use the link @carwash posted above to do the patient registrations as that is not a unique link to the appointment. The location code to use for the patient registrations is ONPTCORP, which is also in the Zoom link email.

Depending on what device you use to register, the new patient lining may be “hidden” over the graphic of the virus, so scroll a bit or look for the trace of black font over the bright red virus graphic. It’s next to the “check your results” link that is more visible. Here is a screen shot of what that looks like on an iPad mini in landscape mode to show what I’m trying to describe - the link is more visible in portrait mode.

Also noted above, you will also need the confirmation code for each person who is testing - those codes come in both the patient registration confirmation email and the text you receive after completing the patient registrations. This is not the same as the order number with your testing appointment purchase. The patient registration confirmation emails are sent from -

One other comment - I’ve now used OnPoint twice, and had to register as a new patient again for the second test. I couldn’t find a way to recall my prior patient registration info, but that’s probably for the better anyway as insurance or other info could have changed since the first test. Also, while fhe first test proctor asked for passport number, the second time asked for drivers license or state ID number.

i read some emails are going to spam, did you check? Plan to do onPoint too. My cruise is 5 weeks away.

I’ve checked all my spam and deleted. The only email I have is one from them shortly after signing up asking me to consider extending my plan to the unlimited testing option.
I e reached out to customer service a lot and no reply

One more question for OnPoint. It says to bring your government issued ID to the appointment. What do I need for my 9 and 7 year olds? Birth certificates?
We used OnPoint in June and they only asked us to verify our kids birthdays, they never asked for ID. We used government issued tests with no issues.

OK, I have a question. Your link is to the Flowflex tests. I called Inspire Diagnostics asking if those tests could be used as they are not FDA approved, only FDA emergency use authorized and they told me no, the RAT need to be FDA approved to be allowed for entry onto a Disney ship. Now I'm confused. Has anyone else used these tests with no problems? We sail in less than 3 weeks.

That is interesting. I used these tests for testing on two different DCL cruises and they were allowed. Most recently when I tested for the Wish MV. When I filled out the info the testing company asked for the brand and I entered the Flowflex. I thought any test could be used as long as it is approved for emergency use.

Let me look on my recent results that OnPoint/HealthTrack RX sent me and see if the actual brand of test is listed on the results.

OK, I just looked at my results from HealthTrack RX and nowhere on the results is the brand of test listed. Just type of test which lists "Covid Rapid Antigen Test" so maybe that's why it was passed by SafePassage....because the brand was not mentioned? IDK...like I said I thought any test was allowed if it was approved for emergency use. Funny because many of the free government ones we were sent were expired by a few months yet when asked the government said its still OK to use. I purchased the Flowflex ones.

I order test kits directly from OnPoint, and they sent the Flowflex tests that the other poster linked to.

Did some digging and found this graphic on the manufacturer's website. The box I have is the one on the right, which is FDA approved.1658932060293.png

ETA: The test is also listed as approved at https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices...al-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests

I tried expanding your picture, but it gets too pixelated, so I can't see what the writing says. The box on the right looks exactly like the ones that I was interested in and can get them for $4.99 locally. However, one of the sides of the box definitely says FDA emergency use authorized, but not FDA approved. So yours says FDA approved?

Here's a link to what I think is the same test, although it's from Target and you can see where it says "not FDA approved". https://www.target.com/p/flowflex-covid-19-antigen-home-test-1ct/-/A-84996289

Nobody has answered my question yet, though, if you can use the results from BeeperMD for Disney? We have a cruise with RC before getting on the WISH and we're planning on using them for at least that cruise. And they're still free!

Mine says that as well, which may have been true at some point, but they are now FDA approved according to the FDA website.

I'm not sure that any at-home Covid tests sold in the U.S. have received "full" FDA approved -- all are Emergency Use Authorization. While there are counterfeit tests out there, or foreign ones not recognized by the FDA, I don't think legitimate businesses can sell any that aren't EUA. Anything you get at Target or Walgreens or whatever local drug store will be EUA and that's the approval level needed.

Sorry to belabour the point, but I've been to the FDA website before. Just went there again and if you click on the link where it says "these tests are FDA authorized" it goes to a page which says "Emergency Use Authorized". Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, I don't see where this test is FDA approved. This is so confusing now - why can't everything be simple like it was a few months ago?

Ok so called the 800 number it’s thing this am. Finally talked to someone who found my file and sent me new emails with zoom links So all set finally.

Maybe I should call Inspire again and ask the same question. Just don't want to be denied boarding because of this.

The EUA approval is from the FDA; I believe the official wording is "FDA approved for emergency use" or something similar. I suspect the phone rep was confused over "FDA Emergency Use Authorization" vs "FDA approved." The tests sold by Inspire are also EUA or even pending EUA, not full FDA approved:

Are your tests FDA approved?

All of our available tests are either currently approved under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or are pending FDA EUA approval. Tests that are pending EUA have been submitted to the FDA by the manufacturer and are in review by the FDA. In accordance with FDA regulations, tests that are pending EUA approval can be distributed and used in the U.S. under the supervision of a high complexity CLIA licensed laboratory. Inspire Diagnostics has partnered with a number of CLIA laboratories to administer any tests that require such oversight.
Our Access Bio CareStart COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test is currently FDA EUA Approved for use in point-of-care settings under a CLIA certificate of waiver. Our Boditech COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Test is currently pending FDA EUA approval.

Here's my take on this. I think that the test is "FDA Approved" via an "Emergency Use Authorization." All the vaccinations and ancillary testing items received an Emergency Use Authorization -- I don't believe that any have what is considered the full, typical "FDA Approval" of other medical devices or medications.

From the way you describe the conversation with Inspire, it could be that the Inspire folks interpreted your question to be "Can I use a test that the FDA hasn't approved at all?" So, the answer to that question was No -- the test has to be "FDA Approved." As the Flowflex is FDA Approved (via an Emergency Use Authorization), it appears to be acceptable.
