Know any Disney haters ?

I was wondering if anyone out there knows or has met someone that hates Disney World. My DH recomended WDW to a co-worker of his and they went 2 weeks ago. Today, the guy told my DH that he & his family Hated WDW. He said it was overrated and overpriced. Then he said that his family prefered local carnivals-cheap & close by. I guess my family and myself are spoiled-we just can't stand traveling carnivals-unsafe & dirty !!! Also my SIL's DH says he's never been to Disney and never will. To each his own I guess !!!

Oh yes I meet them all the time!! As soon as I say I LOVE Disney they have to tell me why it is the worst place to spend our money!!

Yes; I have an aunt and uncle that hate it. They say the same thing. They think that it is just like a local fair so why pay the high prices?!?!?! Plus, what is worse is that they have raised their kids to hate it. Those kids now have children that are missing out!!!!!!!

My DH isn't overally crazy about it. To be fair, his job is watching large crowds, surveying them for anything sinister (he works for the Secret Service), and he has a hard time turning that off when he goes anywhere off work in a large crowd. We did have a very nice time in October when we went, because the crowds were so much smaller.

HOWEVER, the nice man that he is, he has agreed to give it another shot this July. I hope I don't turn him off to WDW forever! I'm planning on doing the parks in very small doses, and have lots of pool time incorporated into the trip, plus we will be at Sanibel Island for 5 days beforehand.

DH's good friend decided to try WDW, after he heard how much we love it. The poor soul took his family for Easter week a few years ago. He said the crowds were unbearable. I think he hates it now.

I have one friend who is like that. She only went to WDW once, in the middle of the Summer, over a holiday weekend, with her Mother (who she argued with constantly). They didn't know their way around, didn't do any reasearch at all, it was hot and crowded, they had to wait in extremely long lines (this was pre-FP), and had a miserable time. She now hates WDW. I didn't know her at the time or I would have prepped her for the trip I've tried talking her into going again, and letting me help her plan it, but she doesn't want to go back. Her loss.

Yep, my MIL, FIL & SIL (DB's wife). They think I am nuts when I go, so I don't tell them all the time when I do go.

My ex BIL hated it when he went with us. And let everyone around him know just how much.

As far as I'm concerned, the more people hate it, the less crowds there will be.

I am the youngest of 3 girls in my family . Our middle sister loves disney (not as much as me but hey1) But our oldest sister (bless her heart) just doesn't get it. They went for a long weekend last yr to Orlando and never (please none of you faint) NEVER went to disney! When I asked her why they didn't she just said well there is nothing really to do there. HUH??? See she just doesn't grasp the reality of Disney.
We (hopefully) are taking her youngest DD with us this yr to DO Disney. I added the hopefully because for 3 yrs now we have asked for DN to go with us and everytime she says yes then backs out of letting her go. To say the least this has disappointed all of us (and really ticked me off) yr after yr. This yr I told her we booked a package after such and such date if you cancel I expect to be reinbursed what I lose on having to make changes. So hopefully this yr will be the yr. If not I will come on here and rant a bit I am sure!!

We also met a family from Chicago last Feb staying in the Marriot that said they weren't going to Disney as they had gone last year!

I COULD NOT be in Florida, much less Orlando and not go!!!

I talked to my daughter's friend who was in Universal at Easter Break (they are Disney "bored", went a couple of times, was enough for them). I was asking her about the attractions and she didn't even go on Spiderman! I was appalled..LOL. We just live for that ride.

My BIL (DH's brother). Now he has two daughters! LOL

He actually asked me if I might consider taking his older one (not yet 4yrs old) with us when our family goes in the future. He said he would take our older one on a trip sking at the same time.

I said "don't you want to see the look on your daughter's face the first time she sees the castle?"

I wouldn't mind taking my niece with us, but when she is older.

DD's friend has a whole family of WDW haters. Just before one of our trips, I was talking to the mother who, as soon as I told her where we were going, got on her soapbox and started. I'll never forget the things she said, "My kids hated it there, they were bored.", "My kids liked Las Vegas way better.", "We like going out West much more." I think I snuck in a "We really love WDW", but I doubt she even heard me.

My DS and BIL aren't disney haters but they aren't terribly fond of it either. They enjoyed vacationing in the Orlando area so they are going back again this year but they aren't going to go to any of the disney parks! I can't imagine doing that.

My DH but he is very understanding.....I don't Poo-poo his Ebay and Antiques and he doesn't Poo-poo WDW! HE JUST DOESN'T GET IT!!!
