what are the crowds like ??

we will be in So Cal 4/6 - 4/14
Disney takes up our first 3 days-

I assume that Sat & Sun are the busiest days but how busy is busy ?

How long are the lines for their 'premier' rollercoasters ??

Does Knott's have a system similar to fast pass ??

Any park visiting tips ??

We are going here because of the great deal we got with the
Southern California City Pass. i haven't been to Knott's since I
was a child so I'm looking forward to some of thier thrill rides.

What attractions are 'can't miss' ??

Crowds will be moderate to heavy on the weekend, since this is still likely to be Spring Break. Lines will probably average about 30 minutes, some longer, some shorter. No fast pass type system - one line for everyone. Park visiting tips... stick to the rollercoasters , particularly GhostRider and Xcellerator - Silver Bullet is brand new, I haven't been on it yet, but I hear it's pretty good.

We have been on a Saturday, and the roller coaster lines can be up to an hour. However, my husband says it was worth it. And no they do not have a fastpass system or anything similar.

I hopes this helps!!

I am interested in this thread, too, as we are planning Knott's for a Sunday (Oct. 2). I am hoping the wait times won't be that long at that time of year.
:sad2:

October 2....you should have a very light day. Generally, that's when they start Halloween Haunt so you may have a few rides that are not operating and/or modified for the Haunt (Calico Mine Ride, Timber Mountain Log ride modified - bumper cars, balloon race closed). Keep in mind, during the day, they cover up most of the "haunt" items so you're not going to be scared or anything. You will also have shorter hours, but it's not crowded so you'll be able to do everything.

That being said....if you want some of the best scares in the country, get some tickets to Halloween Haunt. Burger King usually has them for the opening weekend for around $20-25 (depends on when it actually opens). Go during the day for the rides and then come back in the evening for the mazes, shows, and scare zones.

Count me in for the Knotts newbies (okay so I was there one day in 96) but I plan to go the 13th or 14th of July- What kind of ticket prices do they have? Any discounts? Any great tips?

I am interested in this thread also..plan on buying City Pass...was at Knotts Berry Farm in 1991..was not impressed at that time..but now I understand that it was bought by the company that owns Cedar Point in Ohio...so is Knotts Berry Farm more like Cedar Point in Ohio?...mostly rollar coasters?

There are generally discounts to be had...ask a little closer to your trip and I'll look around....

As far as CF running Knotts...they have added more rollercoasters, but it's definitely not ALL rollercoasters like the point. They have a great woodie (Ghostrider), a rocket coaster (Xcelerator), a B&M Invert (Silver Bullet), an old looping shuttle (Montezuma's Revenge), a "family" roller-skater coaster (Jaguar) and a kiddie roller coaster (Timberline Twister). They also have the standard drop towers (if 300' is standard for you), a decent rapids ride, some pretty good flat rides...one of the oldest (if not oldest) log rides, a Calico mine ride....a pretty good mix if you ask me. My kids love going there in the afternoons in the off-season...virtually no lines.
