I am writing these reviews to make time fly for our trip coming up this october. These reviews are from our trip in October, so I might not remember what everything is, but will try to have fun with it

Cast:
Me: 32, and very picky eater, prefers foods to be not spicy and plain, loves chicken and desserts
DH: 37, exact opposite, loves flavor and spice, not picky at all

Ratings
I will rate categories on a 1-5 point scale, but instead will use the bouncing figment:figment:

:figment: =does not meet expectations
:figment: :figment: = just ok, maybe had some problems
:figment: :figment: :figment: =meets expectations
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: = exceeded expectations
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: = went above and beyond what thought possible.

I will try to rate all restaurants in the same area such as: service, atmosphere, value, and rate each individual dish.
In addition, I will include if I would return and if I would recommend it.

First up is Old Port Royale Food Court.

We just arrived from the airport and we wanted to eat before we hit the parks.

I had some type of pasta

It was bland and gross. I give it :figment:

Also had a cupcake for dessert. There were two types. One listed that it contained banana and one that did not contain banana. Sadly it was just a label misprint b/c they all contained banana. I don't like banana.

It isn't even worthy of a rating.

DH had the jerk chicken sandwich

It said it was pretty good and deserving of:
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Up next: food and wine festival pics!

After our lunch at Old Port Royale, we headed over to Epcot to enjoy the food and wine festival.

Our first stop was craft beer!!

We had flight number 1

It was decent. The Namaste and Devil's triangle stood out to me. Overall give this flight: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Then went to Brewer's collection and had a flight of beer there

I recall enjoying it as well. Give it :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

After all that beer, had to have a snack

I selected the ravioli from the Italy booth

This is one of my favorite dishes. Very filling and absolutely yummy. I give it :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Hubby had the Italian sausage with peppers and bread from the Italy booth

He gives it :figment: :figment: :figment:

I had issues with the texture and didn't like it. He said it was ok
overall: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Up next: Be Our Guest

I was beyond excited to eat here. Belle is my favorite princess and Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies.

Atmosphere:
words cannot explain the beauty of this place. It is breathtaking. I give atmosphere the best rating possible:
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Service:
our server was spectacular. Very attentive to our needs, very friendly, and genuine. She was the best server of our trip
Service rating: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

We started off with an appetizer, the assorted cured meats and sausages.

Loved it. I am very picky and enjoyed it. We give it:
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

For main meal I had the lamb

I have never had lamb before so unsure of what to expect. It was ok, hard to eat. I did not like the side either, but I am not big into sides. I give it:
:figment: :figment:

DH had the puff pastry with scallops and shrimp

He loved it :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Continuing on with our dessert from BOG:

I had to have the grey stuff for dessert.

I have read many complaints about the brownie being hard, but I loved it.
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

DH had the strawberry cupcake.

He loved it, I loved it. we give it:
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Overall, we loved our experience at Be Our Guest.

Would we recommend: Yes. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews out there, but everyone needs to try it at least once.
Will we return: Yes, we even have reservations for our trip this october!

Started off our second day at Epcot. Before diving into food and wine had to grab a quick breakfast at Sunshine seasons.

For breakfast I selected the red velvet whoopie pie!!

It was freaking amazing! best Breakfast ever!
I give it: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Started off our Food and Wine journey with Canada

We had the mushroom filet and the seared rainbow trout

I rate the filet: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:
It was yummy and had to have it several times during our trip

DH rated the rainbow trout: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Also pictured is the cheddar cheese soup, which I cannot get enough. With that in mind I rate the soup: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Next stop was the Ireland Booth

DH had the cheese selection

DH said the chutney that went with it was amazing. Gives it:
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

I had the chocolate cake with Bailey's custard.

It was small and gross. Wouldn't eat it again. It only receives :figment:

DH went to France and had the escargot

He said it missing the wow factor. But it is a great way to try something new without it being overwhelming. So he gives it :figment: :figment: :figment:

And up next some beer flight pics!!

Next stop New Zealand
DH had the Venison Sausage with pickled mushrooms

He said it was good but nothing special. Rates it: :figment: :figment: :figment:

First up as we continue with our food and wine festivities is kefta pocket from Morocco

it was gross. Only gets :figment:

Next stop was the spicy hand roll from Japan

I love it! Had it multiple times on our trip. I love the spice and i am not a spicy fan. The portion was excellent as well.
This dish deserves :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

We had the tacos from the Mexico booth next. Ribeye on left, shrimp on right

We recall enjoying both of them.
They each earn :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Lastly, we had the lamp chop with potato crunchies. The potato crunchies are basically potato chips

It was much better than the lamb i had at BOG the previous evening. Nothing to write home about but good
It earns: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Up next, dinner at San Angel Inn

This was our first time eating at San Angel Inn.

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:
This place is beautiful. Quite dark but fitting for the being under the stars in Mexico

Service: :figment: :figment:
This trip was 8 months ago, but I recall there being issues with service. People sat after us were served first by the same server and he gave them more attention.

I had the carne asada

It was good. But way too much food with all the side items. I ate just the steak. Excellent steak.
I rate this dish: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

DH had the fish tacos

He loved them. And thinking of them makes him want to eat at San Angel Inn during our trip this upcoming October
He gives them: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

For dessert I had the chocolate mousse

and Dh had the crema bavaria

As a whole the desserts were good, not outstanding, but good. So they earn:
:figment: :figment: :figment:

Will we return: Yes, not this trip but one in the future. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant.
Do we recommend: Yes, have to eat here at least once. I don't like Mexican food, but was filled up with my meal

If you cannot tell, we love the food and wine festival!!

First up:

orange dole whip with creme de cacao

It was yummy. What a genius idea, combining the amazing dole whip with alcohol. We give it :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Also from the refreshment port we had the Fried Shrimp with Dole Pineapple Sweet and Sour Sauce

The shrimp was nice and crispy. Ton of them too. The fries were eh, no need for them really with the amount of shrimp they give you.
We give it: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Next stop was Greece
DH had the Taste of Greece,

He said the olives were amazing. It also receives: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Nothing to write home about, just ok :figment: :figment:

Also had the kimichi dog

It was pretty good. Much more enjoyable than expected.
We give it: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

Great reviews. Looking forward to your review of Captain's Grill we have an ADR there in October. Also looking forward to the Via Napoli review. We plan on going there during our December trip.

We met my Brother in law and his wife and daughter at Shutters for an evening meal.

Want to start with they were very accommodating. DH and I were at Shutters at the reservation time, but our family was running late due to Orlando traffic. I told the hostess that it would be awhile for everyone to get here and no need to keep our table, but to give to someone else. She insisted that she would keep it. Our family arrived about 45 minutes late, and they still had our table. I didn't expect that and appreciated it.

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: Our server was very nice and friendly. She knew we would be using dining plan on two people and paying out of pocket for the rest. With that in mind she applied the dining credits to the two most expensive entrees. Not sure if she was allowed to do this, but the gesture was nice.

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: Very similar feel to rest of the resort. Only down side was really loud and squished with tables

Food:
I can't remember who had what, or even if it was good. If it was horrible, we would remember, or if it was outstanding we would remember. But must have been acceptable, so all food from here will receive:
:figment: :figment: :figment:

We started off with two appetizers
Chicken wings

beef empanada

Entrees

steak

sustainable fish

pasta with chicken

another steak

desserts

Will we return: Honestly, if we are staying at CBR we will, won't go out of our way to go there
Do we recommend: If staying at CBR you must try it, otherwise no need to go out of your way

When we heard about the bread cones, we were very excited to try them because they are different.

I had the sausage, marinara, and mozzarella bread cone while DH had the cajun shrimp salad bread cone

We loved them!!! They earn: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

However, I think we were the only people who loved them since they no longer serve the bread cones.

We split a vanilla shake which was super yummy

The shake earns: :figment: :figment: :figment:

we each had a cookie. Nothing special. They were chocolate chip and peanut butter.

The cookies earn: :figment: :figment:

Captain's Grille

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: The atmosphere was relaxing and calming, which is exactly what we wanted. While it wasn't really special, it matched the theming of the resort perfectly.

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: Our server was attentive to our needs and landed expectations.

Food:

I had the Chef's pasta creation which was like an elaborate beef and noodles

It was ok, nothing special, would not order it again. It receives:
:figment: :figment:

DH had some type of seafood dish. Didn't write down what it was

He said it was amazing, and gives it: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

and pictures of our desserts:

Will we return: eventually, not in the near future. It was good and pleasant, but there are other places we would go to again first

Do we recommend: If you are looking for a nice quiet meal in the epcot area, then yes go for it.

Up first:

Desserts and Champagne

We had the dessert trio:

May as well rate each one separately

orange cupcake: :figment: :figment: just eh

hazelnut chocolate cheesecake: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I loved it!! love the combo of hazelnut and chocolate

Morello Cherry Pistachio Mousse: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: DH loved the fruit with pistachio combo. Wishes he could have it again
