Asking here because the disabilities board is silent and seems to be mostly about WDW. A friend is going this weekend and he uses a knee scooter. I'm trying to help him determine if his group should get maxpass and if FP, in general, can even work with his scooter. I'm only familiar with DAS (without mobility issues).

We already understand certain basics like requesting return times at the attractions. Can these guests request at kiosks to save the walk?? Is this still a paper they give or is it digital now and linked with his group? Do they need to be present with their tickets or linked in the app when he requests the return time?

How does FP work with mobility issues? Is there any benefit to getting a FP for Splash or are they just gonna make him get a return time/wait once he gets there? Or would they direct his group to the immediate boarding accessibility line since he's already had his "wait" with the FP?

Is there a list of which FP rides will fit a knee scooter in the FP line (but no stairs?)?

I can't help much but I'm guessing you are going to need to follow all the steps that people using wheel chairs or ECV's do. He'll probably have more trouble in lines than you think. There are a lot of rides in Disneyland that have stairs as part of the line- Indie, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder, Mansion has that steep moving walkway that could be an issue just to name a few. DCA he should be better off as it was made later.

The other things to consider - is he in a walking boot? If so that might make getting in and out of rides difficult just for the size of it. For instance Pirates may be an issue as there isn't as much room as you think in the boot so don't cram the row with people - he may need some room to sit sideways.

Good luck.

He's more concerned with knowing whether buying MP is a waste of money for his group if he can't use it. Will he have to wait twice, etc?

Sorry I can't help with that. I do think I've heard that it works well together. I believe if he's going to DCA Maxpass will work great as I believe all ride lines are accessible to him. Hopefully someone here can help you.

@Jperiod We just got back from Disneyland, my wife had an injury that was going to prevent her from walking much, so scotter was a necessity. We'd used the DAS at Disney World do to her RA, but honestly the MaxPass system worked so well at Disneyland she really didn't need to use any DAS. The only time she requested a return time was at Peter Pan, she waited in line at Storybook Land Canal Boats and the CM told her she could have gotten in without the wait. So my person take is it might be easier, with the group, to use the MaxPass.

My experience at Disneyland because I have difficulty with stairs. Indie, Jungle Cruise, and Big Thunder all have stairs in the boarding line. Space Mountain has stairs after the ride ends. For those rides, I ask for a return time. It doesn't mean immediate boarding however. The return time will be the present wait time minus 10 minutes. When I return, I often still need to wait at Space Mountain until the accessible vehicle returns.
