Is there any chance they would take back a Wii game (for store credit?) without a receipt?

Thanks!

Toy 'R Us used to be known for taking a return without receipt for anything they sell (for store credit only). Dunno if that's still true.

I agree....try walmart. Kmart and TRU are both very strict with returns.

Unless it has changed - Target's policy is to accept up to 2 unreceipted returns a year per person. As long as the game is something they sell you should be able to return it there.

Our Target won't take anything back without the receipt. ToyR'Us won't take it back either. Stores are getting more and more strict about returns. It is near impossible to return anything , anywhere without a receipt!
Where did you get the Wii? No chance of returning it to the place you got it?

It is a HSM2 Wii game that my MIL bought in Nov at TRU. I can't really ask her for the receipt, and it's after the 45 days anyhow. She bought the one without the mic by accident, so we can't use it without paying more $ for a mic. HSM3 "Sing it" is coming out next week and we would rather have that anyway.

Maybe I'll just try ebay for it.

Toys R Us can look up a purchase if it was made by credit card. I had to make a return there (gift from MIL, too - no receipt) and they told me that they could look up the cc to verify the purchase.

Our TRU is 90 days.

You might try Best Buy or Gamestop.

Another option for the mic only is to try Gamestop - you might get a used one for about half the cost of the new one.

You all do realize that part of the reason stores won't take back merchandise without receipts is because of taking back merchandise they didn't sell you to begin with, right? Good grief. Either ask for the receipt, take it back where you got it, or sell it on E Bay. :sad2:
