Klm code with national question

I used a KLM code that was posted here for a car rental with National. It did give a good savings but I did not commit to the rental because I'm wondering if you to show some type of "proof" that you belong in order to use this code. If I go thru and get this rental, at some point (on line or once at airport) going to be asked to prove membership in order to use that KLM code?

Joining the KLM Flying Blue program is free and open to anyone. All you have to do is sign up. Then they will issue you a member number which you can print and show at the rental counter if your affiliation with the program is questioned.

I have my plastic "Ivory" card and I always present it and they never even look at it really.

To get an actual card, just let them know you lost yours:

Thanks everyone. I will sign up today. I'm also going to sign up for the Emerald Isle Club....did I get the name right? I heard you can "stack" coupons with National, hope that's true. Never used National before but I've heard good things on the boards. If any more tips/suggestions...please fill me in. I really appreciate it.

I never got a card and as you mentioned I couldn't log in. It would make me get a new pin and change my password and it kept putting me in a loop. I changed my password then log in and it would tell me to change my password again. I gave up

I didn't know you could get an actual card (I had been using the printout from the website). Thanks for the tip!

I had no problem logging in tonight . Maybe they were suffering some sort of temporary technical difficulties?

I signed up for KLM Flying Blue. If I have the email confirmation, will I need a card? I noticed there are many inclusions with the final price. I've read on the boards that sometimes your insurance will not cover accidents if coverage is listed on the rental. I'm assuming it's ok because this is a frequent flyer discount and I am not using a corporate discount. Any thoughts?

I booked today for our June trip. I had signed myself up for Flying Blue and the Emerald Club, but I didn't think about the fact that my husband does all the driving, so I had to go through the whole process again to sign him up for both programs. As of now, using the KLM code and a $25 discount from the Entertainment book, we have a midsize or better (from Emerald Aisle) for June 15-23 for $289.33, but I'll keep checking back between now and June. Just wondering if I could've used any other coupons as well since there were 3 spaces for coupon codes. I tried multiple codes from the Entertainment book, but it wouldn't let me combine those.
