kitty lost a tooth!!!!

Ok I know holly needs to visit the vet since were not sure why she lost her tooth. I just want someone to tell me that a 4 year old female cat can live without one of her canine teeth. Shes also missing a back tooth from a cat fight as a kitten

My Queenie had to have one of her canine's out and she is fine (still a grumpy old so and so though)

Our dear kitty Tigger had 3 or 4 teeth extracted in his life and was fine. My snowshoe lost a canine last year (she's 7) and is fine.

It's not like our cats have to go out and work for a living catching mousies these days.

My cat is like ten and she has lost two of her front teeth... she looks silly but as she chews with her back teeth she is fine. The front teeth are for hunting (piercing their prey) so since our kitties don't have to hunt for their food they are fine without the front teeth, or at least mine is...

just make sure she eats soft/wet food. she should be fine.

My cats have had MANY teeth pulled during their dental's. The Vet told me that cats can live w/out any teeth. They swallow their food w/out really chewing it.

Call your vet in the am, but I'm sure your cat will be fine.

Yes, a kitty can do just fine without a canine.

My cat (11 years) had part of one side of her mouth pulled earlier this summer including the cannine and she is doing just fine. She goes back in this morning to get the work done on the other side and I *think* that canine is getting pulled as well. Poor thing just has wretched gums.

She still eats crunchy food.

One of my 3 cats has a missing tooth. I feed them all Iams "crunchy" food. No problems!

Not a problem - unless you have some reason to suspect it's infected..
