I just bought one of those Litter Maid thingies and it says to use the scoopable litter.
Any recommendations? What's good out there, does it matter?

I use Sam's Club scoopable litter. It is $7.84 for a 40 lb bucket. I have 5 cats, so I need that much at a time.

I've found that Tidy Cats clumps best for ours. We buy the blue bin, which is quick odor control, vs. the red bin with long-term control. Since the odor gets trapped in the bin within ten minutes.

I use the arm & hammer kind right now which works well, but I've used a bunch of different clumpable litters and they all seem to work just fine in the box.

tricia.

We have the LitterMaid, too. I've found that Arm and Hammer (scoopable) or Tidy Cat Immediate Odor Control (blue top, scoopable) work best with our cat. She doesn't really like it when we change brands too often, so we tend to stick with those two brands.

We have a LitterMaid Mega (two of them, actually) and we use Fresh Step Cedar. Works well for us, and actually doesn't bother my asthma as long as I'm not the one cleaning the litterbox.

Ok, that's good to know.
It's been a long time since I had to think about this kind of stuff. :)
