I am babysitting my daughter's cat while she is up north being a camp nurse for the summer. Tami is a great cat - very affectionate except that she constantly follows me into the kitchen and yowls for food. I am feeding her one can a day and leave her dish filled with dry cat food. I also give her a lot of treats. Is this enough food? She is really fat.
Secondly and more importantly, we discovered a spot on her cheek with no hair on it - looks a little sore. What should we do? Vet? Thanks very much.

You could probably even cut down on the treats. Best to get a vet's opinion for the best opinion, but my understanding is one can of cat food plus one cup of dry food is plenty for an adult cat for the day.
