My daughter saved up money to get a cat and pay all the vet bills. We drove her to Brampton last Sunday (not yesterday) to get her first kitten.

I fogot how much trouble a kitten can get into! :rotfl:

My last cat was more of a dog. This one is like a chipmunk so far. She squeaks, runs very fast, has similiar coloring (not similar strips), and darts under everything. Clothing, the couch and climbs into the couch. I can't wait until she's too big to get under the couch. Climbing under and up into is a new trick learned today. :sad2:

What a sweetheart! So cute.

Our latest cat is still a trouble maker. I used to have their litter boxes in the unfinished part of the basement, where the washer/dryer is. But he climbs up into the ceiling and off into the walls. So now I keep it closed. Doesn't matter that he really doesn't fit well... But he's a bengal so I guess it's part of his charm?

Any way! Sweet calico :)

Congratulations guys ,,your new forever pets are so sweet.
I sent in an adoption request yesterday with Burlington Animal Shelter for a young cat but unfortunately he already found a family.
I'm still looking though.

Hugs

How sweet. In the picture of her in the shoe she really does look like a chipmunk.
Last night she discovered my husband's shoes and that she could get half her body inside by diving head first into them. Crazy chipmunk kitten!

So cute. We got a new puppy last week too.View attachment 688020

Ha, probably! Marbles was half bengal but didn't get her coloring from her mom. I loved everything about her. Loved that she was more dog than cat. I've wanted a pure-breed bengal since I met the breed in my 20's. My next cat.

Thanks Mel! It was surprisingly difficult to locate a kitten but then it was because my daughter was being very specific. She wanted a female, preferrably calico, maybe tortishell. We were finding kittens on Whitby/Oshawa/Clarington's animal shelter FB pages, but they always ended up adopted when we checked. People are asking crazy prices on Kijiji! We ended up finding her there however without paying the insane amounts.

You should get TWO kittens! We found that they did all the kitten stuff to each other (scratching, biting, etc) and then would come to us for human snuggles LOL
We thought about that. I can't wait to have my own cat again. A surprising number of shelters (ie, Petfinder) won't adopt out 1 kitten, but in pairs only. However, my daughter will move out at some point... if we adopted two kittens eventually when my daughter moves out she would take her cat with her. We thought it would be mean to separate two cats after a few years together.

Such cute babies (kitten and puppy). Enjoy this young innocent stage. Trouble will be looming in the near future. (say I looking at my troublesome 6 month old who will not settle down this morning)

Yea, we got a bro/sis combo and it was great. Two months later we added another boy to the mix. Let's just say the first boy (Stewie) def showed the second boy (Bruno) who was the boss. The girl (Molly) just avoided them like the plague LOL
