Sorry if this was posted already. I searched, but didn't find it. I saw it this morning on the news, & have been thinking of the kitty all day. The poor thing.

Kitten Born With 2 Faces

A kitten has been born with two faces and veterinarians don't understand why.

The kitten was born Wednesday morning in Ohio. It has two mouths that meow in unison, two noses and four eyes that have not opened yet.

The little boy who owns the cat said he hasn't decided on a name for the kitten yet, but said he wants to name it Tiger.


Two other kittens were in the same litter, but they are normal.

Veterinarians say this occurrence is very rare, but the kitten could be just fine. It has already begun nursing just like the other kittens in the litter.

When I was in high school, I had a kitten that was born with 2 bodys. It died shortly after birth

WoW! I've seen a snake with two heads. The kitten is a first.

The report I saw this morning said something like they were going to have the vets see if there was any thing they can do for it.

Since there is only 1 head, it sounds like only 1 brain controlling both mouths.

They should- it's the same mechanism that leads to conjoined twins in humans.
It's a shame, there have been a few of these over the years and none have lived more than a few days.
