Kitchens in WDW - WL vs. YC/BC

We're big foodies who enjoy cooking a nice meal together. We were looking at the Boulder Ridge Villas at the WL. The kitchens look good enough for a dinner or two. Are there similar kitchens at the YC/BC? That's our favorite resort, but the kitchen might make me switch.... if there was a resort with a full kitchen and a grill I'd switch for sure.

Any thoughts?

The YC does not have rooms with a Kitchen - only the Beach Club Villas 1 bedroom or larger have kitchens. They are roughly the same size as the Boulder Ridge. I know that the Beach club does have some grills outside in the common area by the Villas pool. I am not sure if there are any grills or where they are at Boulder Ridge. I am sure that someone else will be able to answer that.

Yes, some villas are available for cash, or you can pay a member to use their points. There are brokers available (one is a sponsor of this website).

All DVC resort rooms can be booked by non-members, subject to availability, of course.

Your other option would be to rent a reservation at a DVC resort from a DVC member. You could work directly with a member (see our DVC Rent/Trade board), or work with a broker like dvcrequest.com who would match you up with a member who has the right points and handle the transaction for you.

As others have said, the Beach Club 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom Villas will all have full kitchens. Just like Boulder Ridge (or Copper Creek at WL, which are also gorgeous) all villas can be booked through WDW (if there is availability) just as you would book a regular WDW hotel room. We have stayed in many of the villas (including BCV and BRV) and have always booked directly through WDW. We have never rented points, though that could be an option for you.

I am not sure about grills at BCV, but there are beautiful new grills (and picnic tables) on the grounds of BRV, CCV, WL.

FYI there are no 3 bedroom villas at BCV.

We love staying at the BW villas, the 1bd room.

Even though we do not really cook in the kitchen, the full size fridge, microwave and toaster make having a snack or breakfast in your room so easy. I have never looked for an outdoor grill in the BWV section, someone might know if there is one.

Boardwalk Villas has a grill near Community Hall.
