Can someone find a link to the DVC website that lists everything one is suppose to have in a Studio kitchenette. I looked but couldn't find it. We have noe ice tray at BLT and after speaking to the Front Desk was told that the freezer compartment isn't really a freezer so I shouldn't have one. This was after spending 45 minutes there earlier dealing with MagicBand issues.

For something like this I would call housekeeping. If your room is supposed to have an ice cube tray, housekeeping will have spares and someone will bring one to your room.

You can more easily get ice from the ice machines- they are located near the stairs on the elevator side on certain floors. I think it is on 4,8, and 12 but I am not sure.

It is not listed as an item for a studio. https://dvc.disney.go.com/members/destinations/vacation-club-resorts/bay-lake-tower-rooms

This was our experience requesting ice cube trays, because our freezer compartment didn't have them either- A very nice CM brought one to our room, but as she apologetically said, there were no more (we'd wanted two). It was a cheap plastic and she said they didn't replace them as they broke. And sure enough, once we froze ice cubes in it once and tried to get them out, it shattered much too easily. So we ended up having a working ice cube tray for about 24 hours!

There are ice machines available at BLT. If one is not on your floor, it usually is on a nearby floor often in the center. We always just fill the ice bucket as needed.

How is the taste of the ice from the ice machine? Although it is better than it used to be, the tap water at WDW is just not that great so I've never tried the ice from the machine. If we ever needed some ice, I would be tempted to freeze some myself using bottled water. But maybe they filter the water they use in the ice machine?

Being from Houston where the water is not that tasty I am pretty picky about it. My water at home is double filtered. I have not noticed the ice affecting drinks at BLT.

BTW, when DVC replaced many of the mini fridges they were replaced with refrigerators that do not have a freezer, so I expect that as the BLT refrigerators in the studios wear out they will be replaced with one that does not have a freezer.

Thanks for the info. I'll give the ice machine a try next time.
