Just a mom wondering if anything needs to be purchased for the kitchen, other than the coffeemaker, and what furniture is supplied in the bedrooms?

Thanks guys!

Bedroom furniture per bedroom consists of: 2 twin beds (regular length not extra long), 1 dresser with 6 drawers total (3 on each side), 2 "bedside tables" with 2 drawers in each. In the closet there are 2 metal lockers that can be used to hold valuable things. You have to bring your own lock.

For the kitchen I would recommend a toaster. Like coffee makers a toaster isn't provided. When I got down there I bought a non-stick skillet which I used a lot. I also bought tupperware so when I occasionally made food like pasta I had someplace to stick the left overs. A cookie sheet might also be something nice to have. My roommates and I also had one of those rectangular cake pans which we used several times to bake birthday cakes and brownies. One of my roommates brought a brita water pitcher which we used. I didn't notice that the water tasted bad but I know some people thought it did. That may be something to decide upon once you get down to Orlando. Mind you all of these things aren't really necessary. Just nice to have.

I brought a pasta pot that had a strainer built into the lid and that came in handy a lot. One of my room mates bought pots and pans and a cake pan that we baked chicken in a lot. We did without a coffee maker and toaster but we did buy a blender.

I thought some kitchen things were provided, such as pots and pans.

Can anyone list the things that are provided in the kitchen? Thanks :]

Yes they can. But unless you have one of those little netbook things you would have to place it in the locker vertically or like diagonally. Its like a normal high school locker in its width.

Edit: I take that back. I have a macbok and I could fit it in there flat. I just had to put it so that the "width" of the computer was aligned with the "depth" of the locker. I'm not sure that makes much sense. Basically yes you can fit your computer in the lockers. lol

Can the lockers in the closet fit a laptop?

I saw somewhere posted on here (can't find the post) but they do fit laptops... the poster of the message i can't find said that his laptop was the biggest of all his roommates and his still sit in the locker.

Oh ok thank you! I was really worried about that.

Questions from a mom----do you need a fan in your bedroom for the summer months? Would plastic locker shelves be helpful for the locker? thanks

I don't think a fan is necessary, just turn the AC down.

The lockers are fairly large. I bought a locker shelf on clearance from Target which has been handy. My laptop fits just fine (17 inch)

for the kitchen - if you do any sort of cooking, get a knife set. there is one single knife (other than butter) so if you're making a salad and chicken, you have to wash so you don't cross-contaminate. It's a royal pain in the tush. There also wasn't a pasta stirrer thingie - I had one in the knife set that I brought from home.
