we got it last time as a lunch
it was enough for 8 4 adults and 4 kids we had them bring bowls and scooped it out for them
then we had a snack a bit after.
It is very big but my kids (and my dd's friend), all teens thought it was just ok.
All the ice cream melts into one big glob and that is about it.
I'm glad we ordered it and they had fun but I bet if I asked them again, they would just rather get what they want and enjoy it themselves.
Have fun.
Here is a photo of an empty Kitchen Sink from this past May. We had 4 adults, me, my DH, his 21 year old son and the sons girlfriends. I think the 21 year old ate most of it. It was definately alot of fun and makes for great pictures.
No, it is definitely not free under any circumstances that I know of.
We enjoyed this as a family when we were there last May as well. We basically made it our lunch for the day (isn't that every kid's dream - a giant ice cream sundae for lunch?). The previous posters are correct to say that it eventually melts down to a big gloppy mess, but not so quickly that you can't enjoy quite a bit of the Kitchen Sink before that happens.
Here's a link to the video on our family YouTube page from where we enjoyed our Kitchen Sink:
A great photo opportunity but absolutely disgusting to eat. Too many toppings that should not be together, and it does melt into a big 'ol mess. I second the no way jose. Fabulous!
Yes, it still is free if you can polish it off alone within the allotted time limit. When we were there 2 weeks ago, a group of college kids got one to share while some young guy tried to take the challenge. The rule is that you can't go to the bathroom, go outside, etc. and once you do, you "give". He plowed through the first 1/2, then he staggered toward our table looking for the bathroom. His friends tried to encourage him, but he was awfully green around the gills. let's just say he didn't make it!
Having monitored this topic over many years here, I'd say you'd want at LEAST 5 hungry adults (or kids with adult-sized appetities) to finish the KS before it melts into a soupy goo.
we had a good time polishing one off...it was lunch for us as well, i would definately modify, we had coffee, choc, vanilla ice creams and picked toppings so it wouldn't taste bad mixing flavors that don't go together
