In a few weeks, we are staying at the Beach Club for our fourth time. I really wanted to try the Kitchen Sink with the family...My husband is really weird about double dipping, I am a southern cook and always have to make sure I don't taste something and then reuse the spoon again. Will this gross him out?
Has anyone ever though of this?
Can't wait to go!!!!! I'm soooo excited!

We were ther in March and the family of 8 beside us ordered the kitchen sink. They brought out bowls for them to scoop into if they so desired. Some did and others just bellied up to the trough so to speak and ate from the sink.

That is so funny...I NEVER think about double dipping with family members. I guess you could get the separate bowls like suggested. i would just dive right in with everyone, though!

My Dad's a grossed out by sharing type as well. When we took my parents along we just asked if they could put two of the scoops of ice cream in a dish for him--they did this, but still did not short the Kitchen Sink. He really enjoyed watching the grandkids faces and he didn't seem put off by it. I think he really appreciated being a part of it without having to partake of it!

You're probably better off asking for an extra bowl. One thing for sure, if you're grossed out when it's freshly served, you'll be turning colors when you get to the melted stuff on the bottom.

On a business trip last week, I went to a restaurant in Minneapolis with 15 business associates. It's call ChinoLatino. All the servings are huge and are meant to be passed around the table. We picked 8 appetizers and 5 entrees off the menu and then passed them around. For dessert, we had a huge banana split that all took a spoonful or two of. I guess the first time around it would have been clean utensils but the most plates went around a second time. I didn't even think about the "germ factor". We had such a great time.

If you are in the MSP area, here is their website:

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, I will be asking for a few bowls when we go. I don't care one way or another, But I want to make sure my husband has fun too!
