We thought it might be fun to take the kids to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club and spoil them with the "Kitchen Sink" sundae as a meal (only on vacation!). Has anyone tried this? Also, I'm curious if they allow substitutions on toppings? :mickeybar

I don't think allow "subsitutions" but they will leave things off.

I have two thoughts on having this for dinner. One is go for it, you're on vacation. The other is it could lead to some tummy problems, it seems very rich and sugary.

I would suggest doing it after a very light lunch and before a light late supper. This way its less likely to make yall feel icky and you can enjoy its sugar goodness!

Yes they will 'customize' it for you. We had them make ours with only strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. As far as substituting, they put EVERYTHING on it so just tell them what you don't want and they'll leave it off. Even if you leave a few things out, you'll never know cause there is just SO MUCH there. Enjoy!

I was also thinking that lunch would be better than dinner, to avoid bedtime tummy problems. Other than that, I think it would be a lot of fun!

B&C is our dinner location for our first night there! There are 6 of us so we may get a lite meal and then the sink. Or maybe just the kitchen sink. For us it is a must do!

Do it! However, I must warn you, the Kitchen Sink becomes a gigantic melted mess in about 5 minutes. My DH attempted it 2 yrs ago. He felt so sick afterwards, he had to walk around the lagoon 2x!

Absolutely! I took DD and two friends, all 15, to have a Kitchen Sink for dinner and it was so much fun!! Of course, we had to take a looooonnnnnggg walk afterwards.

I wish I were your kids! I've been eyeing that kitchen sink with all that icecream for a long time. I hope that your kids enjoy it!

We are taking our 2 granddaughters, ages 6 and 10, and I was planning on doing that with them. I figured if we had a regular breakfast and then went there and had the Kitchen Sink for lunch and then had dinner later that should work. I can hardly wait to see their expression when they see the Kitchen Sink. I'm not going to tell them what it is...just order it! And yes they both have a sweet tooth so this will be just fine for them for lunch!

Go for it!

DH, DS and I did this on our Christmas trip...except we opted for lunch instead of dinner. We had breakfast that morning, a snack while we were in AK, then headed over to BC for our Kitchen Sink lunch...way fun!!! As for customizing the sink...we didn't even think about it...the parts we really didn't want we just pulled off and left them in the bowls provided. Here's a couple photos from our lunch for ya to see.

Ohmigosh those photos look so delicious!!! I've always been afraid to try this because I figured it was just waaaaayyyy too much to eat. But if it served as a "meal" it might work better.

Can you claim this as a "CS" meal on the dining plan?
