I guess everyone has them and so far, we have been able to solve them...or at least my carpenters have been. We purchased our new appliances a while ago, double wall ovens and warming drawer. The cabinet to accommodate them was ordered. I even checked after the fact to be SURE it would work. I was assured that it would. Yesterday the cabinet comes out of the box..a very big box and nope, it fits nothing, not the width and certainly not the height. Its too late to reorder what would be appropriate, so the carpenters took the entire cabinet apart today and rebuilt it. It looks great, we lucked out.
I had gotten the appliances I wanted at 50% off of retail. A local company with several locations went out of business and they happened to have everything I would have wanted anyway. This weekend I unwrapped them to register the warrantees. No directions, nothing. Jenn Aire was extremely helpful. For the part that were obviously missing, a temp probe, mounting plate, etc. They ordered. This morning we discovered that the hardware packet for the 36 inch VERY HEAVY microwave was missing. After 40 minutes on the phone, the up shot is, the packet, which is REQUIRED is backordered until NOVEMBER!@!!
The customer service rep gave me that name of the distributor that provides such things, the parts number etc. When she gave me the telephone number I screamed with delight. It was MY area code. I called the number, they had two packets left. Two packets in the entire country. They offered to send it to me. I said, NO, I will come and get it. Luck would have it that they were less than ten miles from my house. for $8.59 they saved the day. So far, so good. I am not sure what else can happen but if it can be fixed, its not a problem. In the meantime, life is not convenient without a kitchen.
