I use dish towels and dishcloths. When I wash my hands in the kitchen sink (which I compulsively do when I cook), I dry my hands on a dish towel. I will later use that same towel to dry a dish before putting it up.
My biggest no brainer was making a casserole in a pyrex dish, then setting it on the stove, not realizing that the eye was still on. I am telling you that sucker exploded! Casserole and glass everywhere. Luckily no one was in the kitchen when it happened.
