Our Event Manager recommended we get our marriage license from the Kissimmee Court House, but I am wondering if anyone has been through this process and used this location.

What do we bring?
Is there a better day/time to go?
Do you need an appointment?
How long does it take?
How long before wedding should we go?

We were planning on going 3 days before the wedding in the middle of the afternoon, no appointment.

Any tips for this process would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I think you're talking about the Osceola County Courthouse (which is in Kissimmee). We didn't have a car with us, so we hired a town car and left the VWL at about 9:30. It took MAYBE 1/2 hour to get there, we walked right in, and there was no line. We got ours the day before our wedding...on a Thursday.

We didn't need an appointment, and I think it took 1/2 hour tops. It might take longer if there was actually someone else waiting.

Just make sure you research the requirements and bring all the documents with you. I think I even called ahead (before we left on the trip) to make sure I spoke with someone who told me everything I needed to bring.

We were even able to pay for it with a credit card. The whole process was really easy.

Does anyone know the cost of a license from this court house?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We used the Osceola Courthouse as well and it was completely painless and easy. It took us a total of 10 minutes. Literally. I think it actually took longer to get through security downstairs than it did to get the actual license. I had printed out the forms beforehand and filled them out, so all we had to do was hand them in and pay.

ETA: It took us about 25 minutes to drive there from Pop. We got a little lost, otherwise we would have gotten there sooner. We went first thing in the morning. We brought the form we had printed out and our driver licenses. We went the day before the wedding.

I thought I read that this can all be done by mail, has something changed??

It can all be done by mail still, using Brevard County's mail-away process. But some people don't have enough time to do it in advance or they are outside the US and it's too tricky to do by mail.

For us, though, the mail-away process saved a lot of hassle.
