My son would eat meatballs every day if I let him. I try to make them once a week with spaghetti or lasagna, but never have any leftover to freeze--he eats them till they're gone. Would like to have some frozen for quick snacks or a meatball sub dinner and wondering if the Costco brand is any good. TIA

I'm not a meatball connoisseur ;) but I know I don't like cheap or fake tasting, greasy meat. And both DH and I found the Kirkland meatballs to be just fine. But we always had them in some kind of sauce, so I can't speak to how well they hold up on their own.

My kids won't eat them, which sucks! I like them, but they are not without a flavoring that lends itself to Italian. So, I don't even try to use them in Swedish meatballs or Stroganoff, or even as appetizers in a sticky jam-based sauce.

We like them. I've tried other premade meatballs and didn't like them, but these are good. I keep a bag on hand and use them as a quick convenience meal with spaghetti sauce, sweet and sour sauce, or cream of mushroom soup. I've also served them plain as a side for macaroni and cheese. One bag makes a lot of meals and I probably buy a bag every 3 - 4 months.

I guess people's definition of spicy varies. They say "italian style" but I've never found the seasoning too heavy or distracting to be used with other flavors. My personal favorite is a quick meatball stroganoff with cream of mushroom soup - but I add MORE spices.

I am not much of a meatball fan, but when I put the Kirklands brand in the crockpot and cook a long time...6 hours, they change in a way that makes me LOVE them!

I had to make a pot for a potluck at church and did the grape jelly/chili sauce ones. I had never made meatballs other than for spaghetti before. I put half the Kirklands bag in my 6 qt pot, with 1.5 cups of grape jelly, two jars of chili sauce and half a can of crushed pineapple, let cook on low for 6 hours and YUM!!

ETA: After just over 3 hours of cooking, these meatballs were done and still tasted like the frozen meatball...which I don't care for. I had no choice but to let them go a couple more hours though and the extra cooking changed them and made them so tender and they lost that taste IMO and really took on the sweet and sour sauce taste.
