Kingdom Towers: Sooner or Later?

But it's "slated" to be available Fall of '09.

yea - remember AKV - the hold up - getting DVC managers to agree on the interior design.

unless KT is already approved - don't hold your breath.

so expecting the opening to be in 2010 and sales to start in 2009.

dvc is no hurry for this. If sales were to be started this year - then why not annouce the thing.

they hadn't. so only expecting the annoucement - then about 6 to 9 months later - sales to start.

it is also like they waiting for the DL to be sold out first too.

the guides like there to be more than one WDW DVC resort - because people have different taste. It is easier to sell anything if you have more than one to choose from.

The construction permits cited a timeframe that will end roughly September 2009. And the documents that DVC filed to obtain its sales permits included dues calculations for '09. I'll be really surprised if it doesn't open in 2009.

Disney certainly knew what sort of construction timeframe they were looking at when the filed for the licenses in late 2007. September '09 is nearly a year-and-a-half away--plenty of time given that they already have 2/3 of the structure framed.

I think they'll start selling about 6 months ahead of time--roughly April 2009. Could be sooner...anything goes with DVC. But that timeframe is consistent with AKV. It began selling in February '07 with the first rooms opening 5 months later on July 2nd.

Hard telling when an announcement might be made. IIRC, AKV was about 4-5 months before sales began. Could be waiting for SSR sales to wrap up. If so, that date will depend a lot on whether the Treehouse Villas (a project that is progressing quite rapidly) are going to be rolled into SSR.

If nothing else, I hope the extra time for KT helps ensure that DVC is more organized this time around. I don't think I'm out of line to say that the AKV sales start-up was a big cluster-...eh, you know what I mean. ;)

I was almost ready to buy at SSR or AKV before the news about KT. But now I'll wait till KT is open. The location and monorail are the deciding two factors for me and DW. So if it's 2008, 2009, 2010 thats ok with me. I can last as long as they can. I am not a DVC owner at this time, I can't see paying money for SSR or AKV when I'm only a year or year and a half out on KT. I have thrown this around for about that long anyway so a little longer is not going to kill me. Want to buy enough points for one bed room MKV. I will be at SSR NOV 29 thru DEC 7. Hope the models are open by then.

Has this building actually been confirmed to be DVC? I'd hate to put all my hopes in it then be disappointed. Personally I don't like the building, but I love the location, and I'm holding my next add on until I find out. If not I'll probably buy Hawaii, but I'd rather have the Contemporary, just for the walk to MK.

Wow, that is an interesting prediction. You may be right on the member only sell out. Not because Disney plans to only offer to members but that so many members will purchase when the location becomes available that they may sell out in 3 to 6 months (while offering members 2 to 3 months advance purchase). I had heard rumors a month or two ago that some big announcement was to occur in May regarding KT. Is this why you predict sales to start in July?

I can't really say to much about why I'm guessing July 2008--it's just a hunch. But I'd put money on it ;) Then again I've been known to lose on occasion.

Question??? Do you always get last years points when you buy. Just thinking KT will be a new resort. So there was no last year or is it always done this way ?

If SSR is sold out in april,Do you think models will be ready to view by 1st week in dec. Next trip to SSR is NOV 29-DEC-7.
