King-size rooms vs # of people (including one DD under three) Help!!!

Hi all! When we went to POP Century in February we included our then 18 month old on our reservation and then were told later that since we had four we couldn't do the King sized bedroom. DH are VERY used to our nice king-sized bed at home and would like to get a King sized bed in our room at CBR this January. A couple of questions:

1) Do we have to include our now 2 yr old on the reservation at all for the room/park tickets/dining plan for any reason at all??? Would this be considered cheating if we ended up with all 4 in a king-sized room?

2) Would there be enough room for either an inflatable mattress or sleeping bags for the two girls (4 and 2) to sleep on? I know this might sound silly to some, but they will sleep just as well this way and I KNOW that DH and I will too. In Feb we ended up in separate beds so as not to crowd each other.

3) Do they check these rooms to make sure you only have the amount needed or would any of the CM care at all?

Any suggestions on this would be GREAT!!!!!! Thanks!!!

Yes it would be cheating.
King bed rooms have a limit of two Guests plus ONE infant UNDER three in a crib/pack&play.
If you really have to have a king bed, why not get connecting rooms? I'm not sure if CBR has king rooms that connect to doubles, but at least one Disney resort must.

Yes, this is "cheating". I don't know if that's the right word, but kaytieeldr said it correctly. The policy is 2 people plus 1 child, aged 2 or younger in a crib.

There may be enough room - but it will be tight. The moderate rooms really just aren't that big.

There's no "room inspection", but remember that mousekeeping will be coming in to your room to clean it.

My suggestion is the same as kaytieeldr. Either get two rooms, or just deal with a double bed for your vacation. You'll probably be so tired at the end of the day it won't matter.

I wasn't sure what the rules were on this and I didn't want to do something that was overstepping grounds. Unfortunately, we just don't have the funds to pay for two rooms so we'll "tough it out" like we did in Feb. It was fine, but the extra room would have been nice. Anytime at WDW is awesome...just had a thought that I didn't want to pass up if it was possible.

This confuses me. We stayed at POP in July and had requested a room with 2 double beds for DH, DD3 and me. At check-in, they did not have any double/double rooms left and they offered us a king room with a free rollaway bed for DD. If this were against the rules they couldn't do this could they? I'm confused.

P.S. The rollaway worked out great. We loved this room configuration and was hoping to be able to do it again.

The king bed rooms at the value resorts are handicap accesible. This would lead me to believe that there may be a bit more space for wheelchair access. At a value resort, the king rooms are guaranteed only as a handicap accessible room, so there's no need to worry about how to book them when making a reservation.

At the moderate resorts, they are a category unto themselves, that can specifically be reserved. As such, if you try to put more people on a reservation than 2 adults and/or the 2 year old in a crib, they won't allow you to do it.

So, if I wanted to do a king room with a rollaway again, would I have to go up to a Deluxe resort? It really was so much more preferable to us than a double/double room.

Unfortunately, no. You won't be able to do that again. Because your daughter is older than 2, if you try and book the reservation - they're going to tell you a king room will only accomodate 2 guests.

A friend of ours was at POFQ not long ago. they have a 3 year old and a 10 month old. They reserved a double double room with a crib for the baby but at check in asked if they could have a king room w/ crib because the 3 year old sleeps better with them when away from home anyway. The CM said that would be no problem at all and put them in a king room. I guess maybe that is at the discretion of the CM checking you in but they were able to do it without a problem. They would have, of course, been fine with the double double room if they had been told no, but it never hurts to ask! The worst that can happen is they tell you no, that you must stay in the room you booked.

Which is one thing I HATE about Disney. Pick a policy and stick with it!

Try booking it when you make the reservation, and let us know what happens. But I've tried this before and I've been denied. But you know how it goes. 5 different cast members equals 5 different answers!

Everyone is always sooo helpful on here. I will leave the reservation the same but I might request a King at check-in and just see what happens. It will be the second week in January when it's (hopefully) not as busy so maybe some WDW magic will come my way???

If not, I'm sure we will be fine. We are driving this time, so I will bring their sleeping bags and stuff just in case we have a shot so we can be prepared but I will CERTAINLY be satisfied with anything at WDW - I feel blessed just to be able to go!
