Hey, I remember when I was 8 or 9 ('93-'94) and went to Universal Studios thay had a King Kong ride that was wicked, but the last time I went which was last year, it was gone.

I was just wondering what happened to it?

The Mummy replaced it. I believe the actual ride was disassembled and is still around, albeit in pieces.

I told my husband that the Mummy had to be what replaced King Kong and isn't that an awesome Repalcement? I love the Mummy!!!!!

I believe it was moved to Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan

;)

yes the mummy replaced, but I think that this is good for USO. Ever since King Kong has been gone more people have been coming to the Mummy.

i loved kong!!!!!!!!! :( :sad1:
the mummy is a good ride too, but why couldn't they have built it somewhere else? then i could still go on kong!!!!!!!!!!

The park does not have much room and many attractions have been replaced which is good.

Among the ones I remember:

King kong
Ghostbusters
Alfred Hitchcock
Hercules
World of Hanna-Barbera
Wild wild west stunt show

:thumbsup2

Not sure, they had a Herc/Xena type attraction in there for a while which I never saw.

I know it's used at HHN for houses sometimes.

They might not have much room for any decent sized attraction there.

Now that I think of it, I do remember a herc/Xena attraction but I never saw it either. I remember I bought a soda one time and Herc/Xena was on the cup and my DD swore that her Dad and I looked just like the picture of them. :rotfl2:

speaking of HHN, I want them to bring it BACK to the studios like they used to have it back in the good ole days. this year will be our 8th yr at HHN and I'm already looking forward to it. :goodvibes

The Hercules / Xena attraction replaced Murder She Wrote.
Same storyline, different characters.

The space where Kong would normally be is instead occupied by Spider-Man at USJ. The only surviving form of the attraction is on the tram tour at USH.

USF has more expansion room than they know what to do with. More than most other Orlando parks. They're just too cheap to build something from scratch, in a more appropriately themed area, so they decided to build in existing buildings. This is the ugly truth, although you won't see me complain about Shrek replacing Hitchcock.
