Does USO regret taking away the King Kong ride after the movie came out which is a great hit? even though the Mummy ride is good do you think they should've kept King Kong? My opinion is that they should've just recreated the King Kong ride.

I'm so MAD  !!!

I would like lots of comments please

I'm sure that USO were well aware that Kong would be released before they even did away with Kongfrontation. I never rode it but, in my opinion, ROTM is a fantastic coaster so I'm happy. I doubt very much whether they regret it otherwise they wouldn't have done away with it.

I don't think they regret it at all, for a few reasons. After the way Kong moves in the new movie, and how he looks, the old Kong just doesn't quite look the same or move as quickly. I miss Kong, but Im not going to call it a big mistake.

Universal REALLY needs another ride with the NYC theme that Kong had! I LOVED it!!!

I liked the theme too, I wish they would've kept it if they just would've put a newer Kong, and a nicer setting it would've have been better. Like instead of being in the trolly put you in the airplane that flys around Kong on the Empire State Building.

I was at Universal on the last few days of King King's reign, it was so sad that they were taking it down. :( It was a classic.

Bring back the kong! Bring back the kong! ::yes::

i bet it was sad seeing them tear it down, but i want to know why there were coins on the ground of the ride and if they put them there for a reason.
If you know anything tell me please :scratchin

The Mummy is a good ride but IMHO Kong was better.

I heard the president of Universal in a interview (about the new movie) say that they wish they could pretend the 1970's King Kong remake never happened. I guess tearing it down was part of his dream. The Mummy was such a big hit for the studios, I guess they wanted to cash in on it.

There are tallks in the north. Whispers of a nameless evil....okay enough LOTR..No there are talks that Kong may return. He has made subtle returns to the ROTM giftshop. And it may even stand to reason that we will see him in the Horror Make-up Show. But think about it, if they wanted to pretend that Kong 76 didnt exist, and Kongfrontation was a ride based on that movie, wouldnt they tear it down? And think about this...It was a popular ride. It is a popular new movie. Wouldnt it make sense to build a new ride based on the new movie? There is that whole Nickelodeon Studios area. There is the whole big soundstage. The possibilities are thiere.

People threy them down there. Mostly, pennies were thrown, so that area became known as "penny alley." Every night, the closing crew would walk the alley and remove all the silver coins from the alley.

On Monday while I was getting my picture for my annual pass, I was told that Universal is mad about tearing down the ride (because of the movie) and that they are thinking of building a new Kong based on the new movie. I'm not gonna hold my breath on that happening, but I thought I would share what I heard.

I would like for them to remake it like the new movie, and replace twister or a not popular attraction.

Considering that the King Kong ride was based off the 1970s version of kong, which was terrible, I don't think it matters. It has been rumored that they will bring back Kong, which would be awesome, but I would not hold my breath.

If they did try to bring back Kong then it won't replace ROTM Ride, so where would it go? :cool1: :bounce: :firefight :clown: :woohoo:

They'd probably stick it somewhere in the Universal park. Replace Twister or something. It wouldn't fit in with any of the themes in Islands of Adventure.

Actually, Kong would fit Lost Continent's theme quite well. It's theme is myths & legends. Skull Island meets that requirement.

Twister's building isn't nearly large enough for a major attraction. I believe it would also be a mistake to resurrect a Kong attraction just for it to take place in New York again. I don't care if those are the movie's most famous scenes, I don't consider them to be the most interesting part by a long shot.

Yeah I don't see why they would resurrect the ride and how they could make it all that different. Maybe they'd set it in the jungle like a journey to find kong theme but that'd be similar to alot of other rides.

I like the idea of putting it in the Lost Continent part. They have settings that are similar to Skull Island, and it would make since, since Kong is a Myth. :bounce: :clown: :firefight :woohoo:
