Hello! We have Martinique buildings 24, 25, 26 requested on our reservation. King bed is the room we selected, also hoping for a water view. Our travel agent called Disney to link our reservation with my parents' reservation, and no one was able to tell her if there are any king beds in Martinique, or how many there are. Any thoughts and suggestions regarding our preferences would be appreciated! Many, many thanks!!

Let me start by trying to let you down easy ... although it's always possible you might get sprinkled with pixie dust, it is very highly unlikely you will get the exact room you want.

First off, the king-size bed rooms are sprinkled throughout the resort; I don't know that I've ever seen a listing of the exact number of king-size bed rooms in each of CBR's 33 guest buildings.

At CBR, there are 3 possible "upgrades" that you can pay for. Each of the 3 is something you must reserve and pay for in order to guarantee, and each one carries an additional charge of between $15-$26 per night. The strange thing is, you can't reserve and pay for more than one of them. You'd have to choose one to pay for and then merely reserve the others. This is the position you find yourself in.

The 3 types of upgraded rooms are: king-size bed, water view, and preferred location.

Preferred location means being in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale, the complex that has the main pool, food court, outdoor bar, water sports rental, shops, arcade, etc. Three of the 6 preferred location buildings are Martinique 24, 25 and 26. You say you "selected" a king-size bed room. If you reserved and paid for a king-size bed room, then the resort's priority will be to place you in a king-size bed room first and foremost, regardless of anything else.

There are plenty of water view rooms at the resort, but if that category is sold out, then you'll have zero chance of being granted that request. Preferred location can and does sell out, so again, you might have zero chance at that. King-size bed definitely sells out at times, so hopefully you actually reserved and paid for that one.

When you look at a map of CBR, you'll see that maybe half the rooms in Martinique 25 are water view, but very few of the 24 and 26 rooms are.

I hope all that I've written here makes sense to you. I'm hoping you don't get your hopes up for getting everything you want. Is it possible? Sure! Mathematically speaking, there must be at least a few rooms that meet all three of your criteria, and if you have one of them reserved, you have just as good a chance as anyone else. But the odds are very much stacked against you.

Choose which of those 3 "upgrades" is the most important to you. Reserve and pay for (and thus guarantee) the one that's most important to you, and request the other 2.

GOOD LUCK!

We didn't stay in Martinique, but we were in North Trinidad (building on the other side of port Royale) and we had a King, Waterview, Corner room on 2nd floor, was perfect. Corner room seemed larger, maybe because with the windows you could see pool and beach, so it was bright and open feeling.

We paid for waterview and asked for a King when we arrived and were assigned to a beautiful room. Great view of the beach, corner room, first floor...I dont remember which building though...it was the yellow and blue one =)

Thanks so much for your replies!! Very helpful! I guess I didn't understand exactly how the room requests and different options worked.

It sounds like I need to pick a first choice - king, water view, or preferred location - as my main room request, which will appear on my confirmation (currently shows king bed).

I love the idea of a king bed, if they really are corner rooms with two windows.

Water view is not that important, but I saw a river view picture someone had taken from their CBR room, and it was so beautiful!

I am having a hard time deciding between king bed and preferred location as my primary request. My parents will be at WDW overlapping with our trip, and my Dad will be in a wheelchair, so being close to everything is important.

Any other comments or thoughts would be so greatly appreciated!

To help prevent you from feeling disappointed later on, I want to caution you about your use of the word "request."

Please realize that each of those 3 types of upgrades is a category that people RESERVE and pay extra for. If you merely request it, please realize that everyone who reserved and paid for it will be given priority over you, and you COULD get your request but ONLY if there are applicable rooms left over after all the paying customers are taken care of.
