King beds at moderates

we are considering upgrading to a moderate (currently booked at pop). Why is it that king bed rooms are so much more expensive than queens? We only need one bed (traveling as a couple), so it's strange to pay more for a room with lower occupancy. We will likely just book the standard room.

If I had to guess it's likely a matter of supply and demand. They don't have that many King rooms and they know people want them and will pay for them. I know some of them also have water views and they don't separate that category for Kings so that may also be a factor.
