I have been debating for awhile for the kindle for my husband, but last night he asked for the barnes and noble nook, does anyone have any feedback. Currently he reads on his ipod touch via ereader.com. I told him I would not order it until I posted it on the disboards because I wanted everyone else's feeback. :rotfl2::rotfl:

I may be wrong... but I think the Nook quantity is gone for 2009 and they are now looking at their next available shipments in early 2010, as was true of the Kindle early on. Be sure to inquire soon if you are interested. Looks like a gorgeous device. I assume once they get ramped up, the Nook may give Kindle a run for its money.

I just read an article that Apple is coming out with a reader..I want the kindle, but will now wait to see what apple has since I love my itouch and macbook.

Shipping currently in January 15, but you can get a beautiful gift card...:rotfl:

We were originally thinking the same thing because we have an imac and also have a macbook and of course all those ipods too.

I was deciding between the two myself (as a Christmas gift to me from DH) and decided on the Kindle. I did get to 'play' with the Nook instore the other day and felt I had to be pushing a lot of buttons to find what I wanted. The touch screen is nice, but didn't thrill me too much. I too have an iPod Touch with both the B&N ereader and Kindle app loaded and never read thru the B&N app. I'm always reading thru the Kindle app. I alreay have some books purchased or free thru Kindle, so that was another reason to go with the Kindle and also when buying books thru Amazon I don't have to pay tax. The book sharing feature means nothing to me as I won't be sharing my books (why?) and the instore wi-fi feature does nothing for me as well (I'm not going to be going to B&N to just sit and read a reader -not my style). Price is the same (B&N + tax) - Amazon no tax. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth. HTH

That's what DH keeps telling me! He knows I want an ereader badly but said I should wait to see what Apple's will be like. He is Apple obsessed!:rotfl:

I can give my feedback on kindle vs nook vs ipad since i have them, kindle remains the best option you may consider.
I have kindle 3G and I am a huge advocate of the Kindle since it has better newspapers and magazines and it is easier to bookmark webpages.
Regarding nook and ipad, thier color is nice but the problem for me is with its screen which make eyes tired after reading for a while on it.
