Kindle-light?

I think I have the newest model, I got it for Christmas. You have to buy the lighted cover if you want to read in the dark.

There is a really great clip-on light, called Kandle. You can run an online search, probably through Amazon.

I bought my DH the one with wifi/3G for Christmas and a silicone cover. I don't know why I thought there was a light?? He has been looking for it lol
Now I better tell him to stop!

Better get one!

Tks!

The non-lighted leather cover is causing problems. I thought I had a defective Kindle, it kept restarting for no reason and would not sync to the furthest page read. I called the number on the back of the instruction leaflet and they told me to throw away the cover and gave me a credit on my Amazon account to cover the full cost of a new lighted cover. It works fine now.

Does the Kindle come with a light? :confused3
Mine didn't, but most of the better Kindle covers either have one integrated in, or are made to have one slipped in.

From a reply I gave to an earlier thread, about this . . .
I'm partial to M-Edge. I have two...

My first was the M-Edge GO! Kindle Jacket.

It's a great cover. I like how low profile it is.

My second is the M-Edge Platform Kindle Jacket.

This is a flip-top jacket, which I find makes it easier to hold the jacket (which I feel is easier than holding the Kindle while reading). I suppose it would also be good standing on its own (though I don't use that capability). The Platform jacket is a bit beefier than the GO jacket (which may translate into more protection).

Both covers are animal-friendly.

Both covers work with (the same) M-Edge e-Luminator booklight (sold separately - note that there are two booklights: The e-Luminator and the e-Luminator2. The e-Luminator2 is for the Kindle DX covers. The original e-Luminator is the one you want for the regular Kindle 3s.)

I bought both covers through amazon.com.

I've looked into Oberon covers, but they're not animal-friendly.
I have to say that I'm not 110% happy with the M-Edge e-Luminator. It does the job well, but it seems to me that they could have designed a lens for it that cast the light something closer to a rectangle, i.e., the shape of the screen. As it is now, the light, plus spill-over, is good enough to read by, but the lamp projects a clearly-delimited rounder cast, and even pulled as far away from the screen as possible and pointed as well as possible, still resulting in the corners of the screen kind-of being "in shadow".

I have the Kandle and love it! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have the Kindle 2 (older version) and my mom uses a Kandle with her Kindle 3 (current version). It's a great light for both models and very compact. I recommend the black one as there tends to be less 'light bleed' out of that one versus the white.
